In case the currents sweep a swimmer, they can latch onto one of the buoys and release the helium-filled SOS balloon and thus attract the lifeguard's attention. The design focuses on user friendliness, featuring a button that can be used from any side, as well as a weighted bottom that allows it to stand upright for convenient picking up. For example, the bag has a purposeful niche around which you can wrap the integrated tubes, thus leaving the labeling area clear and visible. There is a sensor attached to the bag, which helps to keep the donated blood at optimum temperature for transportation. Small, but significant innovations, what do you think? Designer: Ni-Hsin Chang

| Posted: 22 Aug 2014 12:01 AM PDT I soooooo wish I had this when I was a kid! It’s called Cubie and it’s THE best way to tote around everyone’s favorite connecting toy… LEGOS! The design takes the classic green LEGO baseplates, adds zippers, and VOILA! You’ve not only got storage for your pieces, but also a “mound” for building horizontally, vertically, or both! Better yet, you can unzip it to create a larger flat, zig-zag surface for larger scale creations. If only I were a kid again! Designer: Marque Zagg
