Posted: 14 Mar 2013 10:04 AM PDT Simple and realistic this Flash Communicator is one handy gadget you might want to take on your next camping trip. More like a real-time Morse code device, it translates voice to flashes of light that can be detected, read, and translated to voice by the receiving party. The idea behind this project was to make communication between survivors of natural disasters, easy. With the help of a Flash Communicator, locating and rescuing them would be more efficient. During and after natural disasters, electrical devices are often paralyzed. Since the electrical supply is blocked, it is difficult to see at night. Communication is virtually impossible, so it is more difficult to locate survivors. Flash Communicator is a special communication device that could be used in this context.

Posted: 14 Mar 2013 09:50 AM PDT The future of kitchens lies in how tech savvy and "Smart" they are going to be. Vestel Assist is a good indication how technology and electronic devices are becoming a necessary aid. This project includes smart kitchen systems and appliances connected with each other in such a way that communicate with one another and can be customized. The highlight of the setup is the module called Assist. The device offers features like food information, recipes and data sharing, imaging, communication, audio system, etc. The touchscreen, which looks like a simple screen, but is in fact the main controller of the system. It stays fixed to its charging module with the help of magnets hidden under its surface. Designer: Begum Tomruk - Related posts:

Modern Seating with Age-Old Craftsmanship Posted: 14 Mar 2013 08:50 AM PDT Thomas Feichtner's Tram Chair concept for the historical TON brand is strongly inspired by the company's time-honored production processes: first by the company's own plant for the production of seat shells from molded wood, and second by its longstanding factory for the production of classic bentwood. Merging the bentwood and molded wood methods created a few constructional innovations in the process. Jump to the video to see how! The support for the seat shell, for instance, does double-duty as a connection between the legs. The chair thus needs no further bracing, in contrast to classic bentwood models. Though this chair's design is quite deliberate, its name came about as more of an accident. Employees of TON were quick to jokingly dub this model the "tram chair" due to its similarity to the plastic seats on the trams in Prague. Feichtner then decided to keep this charming working title as the product's name. Designer: Thomas Feichtner - Related posts: |
Posted: 14 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PDT The Teracrea TV isn’t your average flatscreen- in fact, there’s no screen at all! It’s a modern vase (also not your average vase) that can be hung on a wall to host plants, flowers or other greenery to bring a natural dimension into the home. LED accent lighting at the top of the minimal frame highlights the mounted garden and provides ambience to any room. Designer: Fabio Bortolani - Related posts: |
Posted: 14 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PDT The futuristic R1 (Roller 1) concept vehicle was designed for the not-so-distant 2030s and aims to shed light on what might be expected from urban vehicles of the future. Powered by hydrogen fuel-cell technology, the R1 moves on 4 spherical wheels capable of cross-directional movement, making it ideal for parking, changing lanes, or turning on a dime. The small size of the hydrogen power plant provides more cockpit space on a lightweight chassis and also makes its low profile possible. Designer: Nicholas Evans - Related posts: |
