Because We Need To Measure

Posted: 11 Mar 2013 09:30 AM PDT

I have seen some really crazy and snappy iPhone covers in my time, so this DeWalt iPhone 5 Case With Tape Measure Concept, caught me by surprise. The logical explanation is that if you work with tools, you will always need a tape measure, so why not have it with your iPhone Case! Oh well, I always keep one handy to measure my waistline; maybe I should have one of this!

Mini Transformer

Posted: 11 Mar 2013 09:25 AM PDT

The age of super-compacts is in full swing, but with that smaller wheelbase comes compromise in stability. MONO is a transformable EV that adapts its stance to maximize the driving experience whether you’re in the city or on the open road. The vehicle automatically adjusts the wheelbase depending on road type, traffic, or speed to ensure stability and practicality no matter the driving conditions. In its compact form the EV is only slightly larger than a motorcycle, making it perfect for zipping around the city.

Tea, Coffee And More – CUPPOW On The Go

Posted: 11 Mar 2013 01:01 AM PDT

Sometimes good design is all about striking the right balance when converting an idea into something substantial. Who would have thought that a nudge by your (not-so-nagging) wife would lead to the biggest creative genius in recent times! I'm talking about the story behind CUPPOW and the thought behind turning the everyday canning jar into a travel mug.

CUPPOW [ Buy it Here ]

There is something alluring about recycling a glass bottle. I remember reusing an inkbottle to carry juice to school, however I had to give up because the glass wasn't a food-grade safe and I couldn't explain the blue stain on my tongue to my mother. I guess this is why the CUPPOW has found a space in most homes, at some point we all did try and use glass jars but were seriously unsuccessful because of the lack of refinements and vision.

P.S. This also validates the Dieter Rams principle that good design needs to be simple!

As the designer duo Joshua Resnikoff and Aaron Panone articulate it, 'the canning jar makes an awesome platform for a travel mug: it's easy to clean, made of heat-resistant glass, cheap, durable, and when sealed it doesn't leak.' And to plug the problem of their large openings and drinking-spills, the eco-friendly plastic lid does its bit. Made in the USA, phthalate and BPA free, CUPPOW is recyclable, and it doesn't break the bank!

Currently there are several variations available: The Original Cuppow Wide, The Original Cuppow Wide – Orange, The Original Cuppow Regular with Straw-Tek and The Original Cuppow Regular with Straw-Tek – Blue.

Essentially, all you need to do is place the CUPPOW on the canning jar, screw on the lid securely and you are ready to go! Just remember, 5 CUPPOWS that are in colors are all paired with charitable initiatives that receive 5% of the profit from those products.

Bathroom Water Sculptures

Posted: 11 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PDT

The Palomba Collection is a synthesis of organic and natural forms inspired by coastal inlets and cliffs where one can observe the waters effect on the rock formations. The collection translates this into a bathtub, 8 available washbasins, and other accessories that all appear perfectly sculpted and polished by water. In pure, bright white, fine fire-clay, the series (together or separate) is sure to be enduring.

Future Glowing Sinks

Posted: 11 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PDT

Designer Masahiro Minami’s “Renca” and “Suirin” washbowls for the SOUHOUGAMA line are the first of their kind, composed of translucent ceramic made from special Japanese clay. The artistic patterns of each are highlighted by internal LED light that passes through the milky material, creating a warm diffused glow and surprising contrast to the water feature.
