Thrift store paintings revisited with popular culture characters Posted: 04 Aug 2014 06:08 PM PDT David Irvine released a new series of artworks on Gnarled Branch, his website. To create these new pieces, he went to thrift stores and bought paintings that he worked on. He included popular characters as diverse as Darth Vader, the Grail’s knights or Spider Man. The contraste between the original painting and the modern characters work surprisingly well visually. Above all, these new works are delightfuly humorous. You can buy prints of this from Society6.
