Posted: 28 Jul 2014 09:53 AM PDT The Clamp Series of customizable rings by Drilling Lab translates factory aesthetic into fashion accessory! The designs are produced in a traditional Taiwan factory and stay true to the construction technique of the original hardware. The only difference is 3 fashionable finishes in matte black, gold, and silver. In two distinct designs, one with a visible screw and one without, you can mix, match, and size to your liking! Posted: 28 Jul 2014 03:59 AM PDT It would be so easy to have your own vegetable patch to source fresh veggies and herbs from. There are two main obstacles though: lack of space and lack of a green thumb. To solve these two issues we have here the "Little Helper' a cultivation pot with a combining app. The idea behind it is to help us grow and harvest our own vegetables and eat healthier (think GMO and Pesticides). I quite agree! 'Little Helper' is a 2014 Top 35 Shortlisted Entry for the Electrolux Design Lab Competition. Designer: Rita Moreira - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Jul 2014 03:34 AM PDT Researches have shown that myopia at young ages is usually caused by the failure of keeping adequate distance between the book and the eyes when writing and reading. 'Keep a Distance' is a device that clips onto the book and ensures that the distance between the writer and the paper is a minimum of 30-centimeters. Whenever your head moves closer than the recommended distance, a red warning text appears projected on the paper, reminding you to keep your head up. Designer: Qichong Wei - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Jul 2014 12:01 AM PDT We usually consider ATV’s to be testosterone-fueled tuff stuff, and this quad is no exception, but you might find its aesthetic inspiration surprisingly soft! The Shiva was designed with… wait for it… seriously, take a breath… DANCING in mind! And not just any dancing, but ribbon dancing. Before you start giggling, check out its fierce fairings, aggressive aerodynamic shape and sporty paint job. It might come from a tender place, but the result is a mean-looking modern machine. Posted: 28 Jul 2014 12:01 AM PDT Modeled on an abandoned stretched Eames Fiberglass Shell Armchair at the Henry Ford Museum, the design imagines the lost prototype reborn using the most modern materials with the most traditional methods. It’s woven out of 12k carbon fiber with a modified weaving pattern that gives it substantial strength & single-digit lightness. In the spirit of Eames’ design philosophy, its transparency lays bare its own construction methodology with visual access to every part, giving it an aesthetic coherence that feels both uncanny & curiously natural.
