Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 16 Oct 2012 09:22 AM PDT The Fosterlamp is a tad minimal, a touch space age and plenty mod. Easy functionality, a diminutive size and a frosted glow make it a great task light or nightstand accent. The simple design harkens back to the mid-century era and will fit into many styles of decor. Admittedly, it’s a bit phallic… but overall nice to look at! Designer: Mikhail Belyaev - Related posts: |
Posted: 16 Oct 2012 09:04 AM PDT Ah, after ages we get to see a traffic light redesign and all thanks to the iF Design Talents! What we have here is the Smart Traffic Light. It uses LEDs and even hosts a camera for capturing street-view videos. They come handy in recoding traffic violations by motorists. The design is intuitive and the lights can be configured to show alternative signals. Designer: Chang-Chi Shih - Related posts: |
Posted: 16 Oct 2012 07:40 AM PDT If things had gone right for Behzad then the Pirelli Coffee Mug Concept would have been a flamboyant prized possession of some Formula One Racing fan. However destiny had other plans and the project was shelved. Being a coffee addict and Formula One fan, I just cannot resist not having one of these in my collection. With the modern tools available, I am positive this concept will look sexier in real life than it does on paper right now! Designer: Behzad Rashidizadeh - Related posts:

Posted: 16 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT Foldone is an ultramodern design that skews the viewer’s perception of movement with folded surfaces and irregular geometries reminiscent of a stealth fighter. The angular folds are not only structurally significant in making the piece sturdy, but also create a visual continuity that encourages the eye to trace the length of the seamless form. Posted: 16 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT If the name alone wasn’t a tip-off, just one look at the Kandinsky Chair would suggest that its striking form was inspired by the father of pure abstract painting, Wassily Kandinsky. The playful design plays with the user’s perception using altered points, line forms and most obviously a striking, mirrored reversal of the legs. Looks like something straight out of a Dr. Seuss book! Do want! Designer: Tresenvespa - Related posts: |
