WordPress plugin: most active authors widget

I’m glad to release my first WordPress plugin. It is a quite simple one that creates a widget listing the most active authors of your blog. The image above is the configuration box of the plugin, under is an example output of the plugin.

How to install this plugin?

Pretty much like every other WordPress plugin. Download the plugin, extract the zip file and upload the whole folder to the plugins folder.

Once uploaded, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins, and activate it. Then you can go to Appearance > Widgets and drag-and-drop the widget in the widget zone you want it to appear. Customize your options and you’re good to go.

Features to come

I plan to improve the plugin by adding some new features, here are the ones I can think of now:

Make the authors’s feed display an option
Give more option for the type of listing (alphabetical,…)
Make the number of articles’ display an option, let the users to change the word “articles”
Give more options for the display of the author’s name
