| The Virtual Reality Phone is Here Posted: 29 Nov 2012 09:26 AM PST The award winning LG Touch mobile phone concept combines state-of-the-art touch technology with a minimalist aesthetic that challenges the limitations of existing mobile phones. The primary feature is a high-tech polymer membrane touch surface that constantly changes to give the user tactile feedback to what’s displayed on the screen. It allows those with sight impairments to read Braille, or users who are shopping online to literally feel the texture of the material they are looking at. It’s virtual reality put to real world use. LG Touch is the Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 LG Mobile Design Competition

| Posted: 29 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST The Lean on Me series of furniture by TSCHUS studio (a team of really cute designers I might add!) aims to challenge the user to rethink the way each object is used by forcing them to evaluate each interaction they have with the piece. For example, while most chairs dictate a predetermined direction and seating position, the “12min Stool” pictured here requires the user to make a conscious decision about what direction and what position they will sit. The 12min Stool: Inspired by the milking stool which is often strapped to a farmer’s belt, the seat requires the user to decide what position and direction to sit. HangOver Shelf: Considering that people often switch between reading multiple magazines, the design encourages the user to decide exactly which page to come back to when they’re ready to pick it back up. 2forTango Hanger: This unique clothes hanger was inspired by a scale and forces the user to maintain balance by managing the weight of the items places on either end. Each fun, portable Brushead is presented as a 3D sculptured character that kids will love. The USB powered brushes feature intelligent sensors that detect brushing patterns & play fun audio messages as they’re used to encourage good practice.
