Green Thumbs Up

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 09:35 AM PST

Pod is a thoughtful indoor gardening system expands on the trend of growing herbs and veggies in smaller, urban dwellings by making it easier than ever to share and trade produce with friends and neighbors- literally cultivating a sense of community! The plug-and-play system automatically disperses nutrients and H20 in the form of fog rather than liquid, making it cleaner and easier to care for. The modular pods are perfect for trading with friends or creating a custom gift that you’ve grown yourself!

Green Lantern channeled for bicycle security

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 12:02 AM PST

If you equate cosmic superhero power with the right-now technology of Bluetooth, designer Hsu Wei-Che has the bike lock for you. Made specifically for short-term parking, this lock attaches to the spokes of your bicycle when you’re going to head into a convenience store (or whatever other short trip you’re on) and notifies you of movement via a fabulous green sensor ring. The power is yours!

Hsu Wei-Che wants to alleviate you of some of the stress that comes with worrying about your bike by making the process of locking it up not just easy, but entertaining as well. This product also works as a lamp when you’re not just using it for security, and the sensor ring you’ll be using will make you the belle of the ball at your local 7-11.

Innovative Food Storage

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST

The Pyrex brand has steadied itself as a leader in food storage, and the designers at Streng have developed the latest addition to the line to build on that heritage with a series of colorful and functional containers. The No-Leak Clear series is nothing short of innovative, featuring a new steam-release mechanism that allows the user to release steam without removing the lid entirely. It’s easier than ever to reduce pressure and cool food items without warping the container.

Googly Eyed Watch

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST

Silly really is the best way to describe this adorable timepiece by designer Mathilde Ampe! The clever SoH (Second of Happiness) watch has two separate axis for hours and minutes that resemble a couple of googly eyes. The face was designed to be easily interchangeable, allowing users to personalize the look of their watch. As time ticks by, the expression changes from cross-eyed, to bored, to mischievous. Wear it long enough and you’ll soon associate the time of day with the looks your watch is giving you!

Laser beams keeping crosswalks safe

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST

There’s a lot to be said about taking a perfectly simple aesthetic gesture and turning it into a guide for the public. In this case it’s a couple of laser beams stopping humans or vehicles from crossing paths at the same time. This design by HOJOON Lim goes by the name Guardian and will bring a perfect stop to a crash that could have been near you.
