| A Purple Blast Between Two Wheels Posted: 14 Nov 2012 09:46 AM PST VANDEYK Contemporary Cycles unveils their new bicycle collection PURPLE BLAST. With their second collection, the creative bicycle designhouse continues to explore the intersection between design, art, handcrafted bicycles. PURPLE BLAST is a performance-oriented roadbike, featuring Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifting technology with fully integrated wiring. The frame is made from Columbus XCr stainless steel, fully handcrafted in Germany. Mmm, German steel! Other components come from premium manufacturers like Chris King or ENVE Composites. The paint is applied in a highly sophisticated process by a paint shop usually working for well-known super-sportscars manufacturers. Needless to say, DO WANT! Unfortunately the collection is strictly limited to 25 hand numbered bicycles. If you want one, you better be really really good this year because this sounds difficult even for Santa. | Posted: 14 Nov 2012 09:22 AM PST This peculiar, creature-like mobile phone concept, appropriately named Curious, features a multi-sensory notification system that alerts the user to incoming calls with not only a standard vibration and ring, but also a complete changing of its shape! At rest, the phone lies flat, but upon being activated by a call, the sections begin to flex, offering an additional visual indication and shape that is more ergonomic for holding against the ear. To turn off, simply push the phone against a surface to deactivate it. Designer: Youngkwang Cho

The minimal wood cover is a more attractive option compared to industrial style boxes and easily detaches to reveal a myriad of tools from hex keys to hammers. The MyVote system aims to streamline the process with mobile units that can be placed in a variety of locations from campuses to community centers where users can do everything from apply for identification, register to vote, research candidate viewpoints, & of course, VOTE! There’s also a MyVote app where users can request a physical ballot or place a digital vote using their smartphone or tablet. Designer: Andrew James
