Steel and Flower Inspired Lighting Posted: 17 Oct 2012 10:14 AM PDT Orchids have long been a symbol of love and beauty and have been grown by enthusiasts in admiration of their elegance. One of these enthusiasts is designer YoungJae Kim who created this design, the Orchid Lamp, in honor of the flower. Following the signature tall form of the orchid, the lamp extends upward but still maintains an aesthetic lightness as it looms over the workspace. In stainless steel and genuine leather, it’s an elegant desktop accent perfect for the professional office. Designer: YoungJae Kim - Related posts: |
Posted: 17 Oct 2012 01:33 AM PDT How would you like a tube light that expands into the length of your holder? Something like one standard tube that fits all sizes. So if you have a small width holder, let the tube stay tightly spiraled. Need to fit it to the longer size? Expand the spiral! The idea is pretty straightforward; the only cause for concern is the kind of materials that will be used in the construction of the tube light. Any thoughts? Posted: 17 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT The Kitchen Tweezers (obvious inspiration) are a modern reinterpretation of kitchen tongs that solve the main problem with the former design’s lack of spring, making them much more efficient and easy to use (not to mention way better looking!). The minimal, seamless design can be cut from a variety of materials that have tensile strength. Personally, I’m digging the raw solid wood and carbon styles!
