Posted: 22 May 2012 03:19 AM PDT iGrow is an innovative flowerpot that meets the demands of our busy schedules, and satisfies our green thumb. The pot is designed to hold a week's supply of water that automatically gets absorbed by the plant. The design takes care to avoid open stagnant water (a breeding ground for mosquitoes) and protects from accidental spills. It's well presented and simple to use, making it ideal for lazy people and folks who travel a lot. Designer: Psychic Factory - Related posts: |
Posted: 22 May 2012 03:10 AM PDT Pendulum clocks have seldom been redesigned and it's probably because of our fixation with grandfather clocks. Nuno Teixeira brings out creative value to the proposition with his version of the Pendulum Wall Clock. It features led lights on the pendulum and on the clock hands, which adds an extra dimension to this clock As he explains, "Pendulum works as an ordinary pendulum wall clock, with a perpetual movement provided by the magnetic mechanism. Since no double weight-driven movement is needed, the clock is lighter and easy to install." Designer: Nuno Teixeira - Related posts: |
Posted: 22 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Lovingly handcrafted in Britain, the Quello table has a contemporary and minimalist aesthetic that will lighten the atmosphere of any room. The table can be paired with the stool to function as a desk, or used alone as a console table. The functional top slides both ways to access storage underneath without having to move objects on the surface. Designer: Phil Proctor - Related posts: |
Posted: 22 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Did you know that people can echolocate in the same way as bats and dolphins?! It’s a fairly new discovery that has scientists (and designers) talking. The Echolocation Trainer was designed as a learning game for parents with visually impaired children that helps develop the ability of using sound to “see” surroundings. Making “clicks” with their mouths, players become sensitive to the reflected sounds, helping them identify shapes, objects and textures within the game. Anyone can do it! Posted: 22 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT This shelving design by Jungeun Kang takes inspiration from the “S” curve of roofs often found in Spanish and Mediterranean architecture. The shelves are supported by the outer part of the curves making it incredibly easy and quick to adjust positions. A super-functional piece that proves inspiration can be found in the most surprising places! Designer: Jungeun Kang - Related posts: |
