Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 11 May 2012 02:31 AM PDT With his project 'Timeless Capture' designer Brian Matanda wants us to slowdown and literally smell the roses before we take a picture of them. Our focus is on tech-specs, angle shots and apps that add artificial glam. In a way the 'subject' of our photography looses its relevance. So let’s re-focus on the art of photography, and by the way this camera is a combination of sand blasted aluminum and polished teak and ‘strong archetypal form to produce a timeless aesthetic.’ Here is how it works:

Posted: 11 May 2012 02:19 AM PDT My son often questions – how can perfectly wound earphones kept in the pocket, come out so highly tangled! While I'm no good at understanding this logic, but I can offer him this delightful tail! I mean the Line Tail, a cute accessory that can be used as line winder as well as a charm. I'll take the fox, please. Designer: sumneeds - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT The unique Hed Lyte (love the name!) concept by Creative Session will bring soft light and a touch of wildness to any space! The design puts a modern, geometric, sculptural twist on the popular taxidermy animal head, utilizing the elephant model’s tusks and the deer model’s antlers as lighting accents. Sure to be a conversation starter! Designer: Creative Session - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT The rocking horse is one design that has been a bit played out as there hasn’t been much variation in either shape or style since it first started appearing in homes. This abstract take on the rocker puts emphasis on the structure in a stainless steel version that symbolizes the mere essence of the classic rocking horse. The bare-bones frame is complimented by a braided leather strip seat that gives a subtle nod to its archetypal inspiration. Designer: J.Key Schneyorson - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 May 2012 12:01 AM PDT Admit it- you’ve approached a door and had trouble figuring out whether to push or pull. Even though we’ve all experienced this, it can still be embarrassing! Here’s a solution: the Push/Pull Affordance Rotating Handle was developed from a series of cognitive tests that revealed a correlation between handle shape and the directional guess the user has to make. When the user sees its flat surface they will push, and when they see the pointed surface they will pull. It’s a simple concept, but oh-so-smart! Designer: Tommaso Gecchelin - Related posts: |
