Posted: 24 Jan 2013 07:36 AM PST This is the day and age of packaging! Quality products do sell well, but to give them that creative edge, they need to be packaged well. For example a great tasting tea will always be bought, but if it's sold as cleverly packaged as this butterfly tea bag, then you give it that creative edge to be bought by the curious minds and impulse shoppers. Posted: 24 Jan 2013 07:28 AM PST It's not rocket science but the clever addition of a simple niche to the cable tie design! The Easy_to_Cut cable tie makes snipping off a tie easier and safer. Been there; done that – the pain of snipping of cable ties can lead to a whole lot things going wrong. For example, I have once managed to snip off the external cable that covers and protected my extension cord wire. Easy_to_Cut resolves these issues by providing a built-in niche into which the tip of a cutting implement's blade can be inserted. Superb! Easy_to_Cut is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner. Posted: 24 Jan 2013 12:01 AM PST Inspired by the events of 9/11, designers Jiyoung Choi & Namsun Do created the Tinkerball as a life-saving device for a variety of emergency situations from fires to earthquakes. The equipment uses a controlled cable and handle mechanism to serve as a descending life-line for those trapped in high places and needing to escape. Easily installed in apartments or offices, it’s a great life-saving solution for an often overlooked hazard. Designers: Jiyoung Choi & Namsun Do - Related posts: |
Asthma’s Worst Enemy, Kid’s Best Friend Posted: 24 Jan 2013 12:01 AM PST Parents with children suffering from asthma have only two options for treatment, the nebulizer and inhaler. While the inhaler is easily carried, it’s also less effective at the onset of an attack. Nebbie offers both the effectiveness of the mist nebulizer and the practicality and portability of the inhaler. The equipment is packed into a small, playful character that’s transportable, easy to use and friendlier to kids. Designer: Phornpavee Saiyavath - Related posts: |
Fictional Fruit-Inspired Lighting Posted: 24 Jan 2013 12:01 AM PST Inspired by designer Christophe Mathieu’s vision of an idealistic fruit, the Maranga light is made up of 32 slice-like pieces spaced to let small slivers of light pass, creating an interesting contrast of light and dark. In pendant, ceiling, table and floor lamp versions of different sizes, its simple aesthetic and diffused glow will create a warm, comfortable atmosphere in a variety of spaces. Check out the vid for a peek inside Christophe’s imagination! Designer: Christophe Mathieu for Marset
