Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 11 Jan 2013 09:48 AM PST My bike got stolen! Benn there, done that; so the focus has to be on how do we stop these bicycle thieves from getting creative at picking locks? Simple, let's make it a foolproof locking system. Which is why the Saddle Lock looks to be a superb solution. You can quickly lock the bike by pushing back the seat into the locking position and make a quick stop to get your coffee. Saddle Lock provides a way to quickly lock the rear wheel without the need for additional locking accessories. The seat post swings down around the main frame when a button is pushed. The saddle features a cut-away shape that allows it to sit over the rear wheel. A combination lock allows the release of a special alloy rotating lock that extends from one end of the saddle to the other, securing its connection to the wheel. Saddle Lock is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner. Designers: Lee Sang Hwa, Kim Jin Ho & Yeo Min Gu - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jan 2013 09:39 AM PST Bobble and their fraternity have brought in a new kind of water consumption consciousness. A new perspective in this line is the Vitamin Water – Water Purifier System. It basically combines the system of dispensing Vitamin Water along with tumbler sterilization. So all you need to do is place the bottle in its place and let the appliance do its work. Designer: Yena Lee - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jan 2013 09:29 AM PST This lovable iPhone 5 case’s iconic shape mimics the silhouette of a whale coming to the water’s surface to breath! While it’s uber-cute, it’s also highly functional. The tactile, curved back provides stability and comfort in the user’s hand, and the tail allows it to grip to a number of surfaces like handlebars, screens, or rear-view mirrors. Another adorable detail, the “blowhole,” is actually a 3.5mm port for headphones! Designer: Seyook Lee - No related posts. |
Posted: 11 Jan 2013 12:01 AM PST Origami often has the connotation of lightness and fragility, but the MIura table is capable of holding weight up to an astonishing 176 lbs! The design, inspired by the origami fold of the same name, transforms from a flat sheet of paper into a functional, robust piece of furniture in one quick, straightforward folding process. Easy to transport or store, and even easier to assemble! Designer: Forrest Radford - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Jan 2013 12:01 AM PST The HH system offers instant hand disinfection for hospital staff and patient visitors in a more cleanly, fast, and efficient process. Users simply place their hands directly over the unit where two functional solutions are distributed- a hydro-alcoholic solution and plastic micro-ball solution. After scrubbing and washing, users can then place their hands under the unit where a UV DEL light indicates with a white glow areas where bacteria may still exist. Designer: Diacre Nicolas
