The VIA modular cooking concept aims to fulfill a variety of cooking needs by offering a range of easy-to-use cooking methods in a super-compact unit that will fit on any kitchen countertop. The multifunctional design features interchangeable grilling, griddle, and induction cooking modules that receive an instant electrical charge when in place and can be used, quickly cleaned and easily stored within the base of the unit. It’s a great solution for small apartments where large appliances would take up valuable space!

Solar And Customized Cell

Posted: 25 Oct 2012 01:14 AM PDT

The Super Battery is a thought-provoking concept. What we have here is an expandable strip that opens up to get recharged in the sun. It rounds up to the shape of AA, AAA and C-sized battery. Basically you can customize the size depending on what you need and recharge it via the solar cells. Here is an innovation that can be refined and perfected to make it to the shelves. What do you say?

Super Battery is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

The Anywhere Speakers

Posted: 25 Oct 2012 01:01 AM PDT

Who can resist speakers that can be carried to all the places you fancy! Yes, the Moktak is not your typical pair of portable outdoor speakers. They are special and can be can be used anywhere; while cycling, hung from a tree…. anywhere! The speakers feature a flexible lead cable with a silicone cover and can bend into any shape. The cable stays in shape and surges power between the two audio outputs. It even doubles up as a handle to carry the speakers; a hook for hanging or a stand for propping them up. What's cool is that you can protect them by clamping them shut like a pod!

Moktak Portable Outdoor Speakers is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Capturing Elements in 3D

Posted: 25 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT

The 3D Material Straw is the ultimate hi-tech designer’s tool that goes beyond the limitations of photography for design research and uses discoveries from MIT’s recent exploration into elastomer sensitivity for recording true-to-life 3D surfaces and textures. When the devices is pressed into an object, the elastomer component mimics the surface and records information into a digital file format that can be used as an additional element in the design process.

Not Your Average Laces

Posted: 25 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT

Unlace is a colorful, rubbery, twistable tie for untangling knotty problems with cords or cables. Each malleable piece can also be twisted for a variety of other uses like creating a custom iPhone stand or binding desktop objects together. The clever design was inspired by shoelaces and from a distance looks exactly like the familiar fragment. It’s a simple solution for tying up loose ends that are driving you mad!
