Posted: 24 Oct 2012 09:44 AM PDT The Spaceship Heart installation, centered at Madrid’s Semana de la Arquietectura, consists of a whopping 400 modular cardboard building blocks, each with eight faces that represent a program in hypothetically mixed-use structure. Aside from looking like a rocket ready for blastoff, the structure also reminds of the symbolic heart shape, and serves simply as a place for viewers to gather and build a sense of community through conversation. Posted: 24 Oct 2012 01:11 AM PDT Someone has rightly said that design need not be complicated, if you peel the layers of fluff, you will be left with a clear perception of good design. The 'Lean-able Umbrella' follows this thought and is a very intuitive and simple design. The handle end has been redesigned with end points that feature a non-slip silicon pad. People tend to lean their umbrellas against the wall, and this design addresses that situation effectively. Lean-able Umbrella is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry. Posted: 24 Oct 2012 01:03 AM PDT The Rail Type Laundry Rack is a rework on the traditional drying rack. It features sliding hanging rails and a grooved frame, which allow the rack to be adjusted so that it gets easy to hang the laundry. Typically the rails on most laundry racks are fixed at equal distances, so it may get difficult to dry two jeans in adjacent rails. With the Rail Type Laundry Rack, you can adjust the distances between the two rails and hang clothes accordingly. Rail Type Laundry Rack Design is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner. Posted: 24 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT The nightstand and lamp are bedside staples, so why not combine the two? The Medusa bedside lamp offers a perfect diffused glow for reading and a surface under and above the shade for resting small objects like a phone or a glass of water. The unique form was inspired by the jellyfish of the same name and features three supports like modern, elegant tentacles. Designer: Mikhail Belyaev - No related posts. |
Posted: 24 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT In a world of cookie-cutter smartphones, the BeoSmart stands out from its counterparts as a truly unique design that hones in on the style and quality of the Bang and Olufsen audio and Leica camera brands. The exterior casing is reminiscent of the Leica M series cam fit with synthetic leather as well as a high powered B&O speaker at the center that serves as the focal point of the design. Finally, an exclusive-feeling Android phone! Designer: Hugo André Costa Vieira Fernandes - Related posts: |
