Tailor Made Bentley

Posted: 02 Jul 2012 01:00 AM PDT

A Bentley so exclusive that there is only one unique piece of it! The Bentley 'Tailor Made' is a one-off customized car that uses ‘Robofold’ technology to its advantage. Basically it's a way of building car body panels by folding sheets of Aluminum with Robots. It uses cost effective and energy conservation methodology that makes manufacturing an exclusive piece, sustainable.

Ko elaborates, "designing by paper forming allows sculptural and natural new design language in form."

Jot, Flip, Sketch…All With One Tool

Posted: 02 Jul 2012 12:05 AM PDT

Call it clever styling or stylized functionality, the Jot Flip Stylus is one super sexy tool that every tablet or smartphone owner must have. Being a fan of sketching and taking notes on the go, the stylus offers me the convenience of drawing on a tablet and taking notes in a book. It features a precision disc that acts like your finger, except it lets you see exactly where your mark will be made on the tablet screen. Flip the barrel and a fine-tipped steel pen emerges from the other side. Truly, its one of the best digital stylus around!

Features:

  • Precision Disc and Precision Pen.
  • Jot is composed of durable steel, giving it superior conductivity and craftsmanship comparable to a luxury pen.
  • Mobile Clip for the movers and shakers.
  • Rubber Grip for more command and comfort.
  • Ink Reload – Jot Flip's ink cartridges are refillable.
  • Ballpoint – The ballpoint makes a finer line than fat rubber tips.
  • It attaches to the Precision Disk, giving you up to a 45-degree writing angle.
  • The Protective Cap twists onto the front to protect the Precision Disc, and onto the back when you're working.

Functional Flexability

Posted: 02 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT

Switch-It is an exploration into both flexible material and flexible functionality. At first glance it appears to be a classic floor lamp, but slide it down and the shade expands to a flat surface, transforming it into an occasional side table. It’s great conversation-starting piece that’s perfect for compact spaces.

The Sound of Silent Objects

Posted: 02 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT

Inspired by street performers and the busking community, the Public Resonance project aims to establish a deeper connection between people and objects, architecture and other natural elements. The portable percussive tool-kit includes an amp an wooden clamps that can be attached to any object. Each object produces it’s own unique vibrations and sound, allowing the player to experience an audio connection to otherwise “silent” objects that before were merely seen or felt.

Open Storyboards survey

Posted: 30 Jun 2012 06:52 PM PDT

I recently received some information about a new project: OpenStoryboards. Still under developement, OpenStoryboards will be an online collaboration tool for designers, storyboard editors and clients. Think of it as Google Docs for image editing. Foreseen features include the image editor, chat support, comment annotations etc.

To better understand the needs of the community, the developers are conducting a survey. If you are interested in this project, I strongly suggest that you participate.
