TRANISM Episode 5: Click and Grow Smart Herb Garden Posted: 02 Apr 2014 08:39 AM PDT What started as a successful Kickstarter campaign is finally shipping and I got my hands on one. In this episode I set up the Click and Grow Smart Herb Garden and discover it really is easy for anyone to grow their own herbs at home. Each Smart Herb Garden comes with cartridges for basil, thyme and lemon balm. Future cartridges will be available for chili pepper, mini tomato and I’m crossing my fingers for berries! Oh I also participate in #whaling. You won’t believe it! YouTube: Subscribe to TRANISM TRANISM is a weekly YouTube vlog series featuring your favorite editor! - Related posts:

Putting the Auto in Automobile Posted: 02 Apr 2014 08:28 AM PDT DOMI is a compact concept that provides a solution for both driven and undriven modes. The interior cabin can be laid out like an office or living room so the user can catch up on work or simply relax while the vehicle self-guides to the destination using a combination of GPS and smart road sign technology. The “driver” can even fall asleep on the move, or, when they’re ready, take the wheel to zip around the city they’re own way! Another Adapter For The Blind! Posted: 02 Apr 2014 04:53 AM PDT Yes, its yet another socket fixture, but there is a lot of innovative factors in the Blind Adapter. The extension is designed to fit with existing electrical outlets and has an annular magnetic electrode so that the plug stays fixed onto the socket. Convenient Braille tags allow one to identify the appliance being plugged in, just to be double sure! Blind Adapter is a 2014 iF Design Concept entry. Posted: 02 Apr 2014 04:45 AM PDT It took a bunch of designers to figure out that a number of us fall off the wagon while following an exercise regime. Hence, they have designed a clever motivational and goal oriented skipping rope that keeps you on your course. The No Red No Stop encourages persistence and teams the rope with visual illumination, which acts as the encouraging factor. This is how it works:

Solar-Powered 3D Printed Tower Posted: 02 Apr 2014 12:01 AM PDT Sand Babel is a group of ecological structures designed as scientific research facilities and tourist attractions for the desert. Divided into two parts above and below ground, the main portion of each is constructed with sand, sintered through a solar-powered 3D printer. The resulting top structure mimics the form of the desert’s natural phenomena like tornadoes and mushroom rocks! The structure is divided into two parts: the first section is above ground and consists of several independent structures for a desert community while the second is partially underground connecting several buildings and creating a multi-functional tube network. The design utilizes a spiral skeleton structure which is tall and straight with tensile strength to meet the requirements of residential use, tourism and scientific research. The dual tunnel model not only improves cross-ventilation, but also generates water condensation atop the structures based on temperature differences. The net structure for the underground and surface sections is similar to the roots of a tree. The design not only helps to keep flowing sand dunes in place but also facilitates communication among the buildings. Posted: 02 Apr 2014 12:01 AM PDT Paean is far-out concept takes aim at today’s workaholics, offering a break from the day-to-day grind! The vehicle changes shape to work in three modes- the first is an aerodynamic “speed mode” so the driver can get out of the city quickly, the second is an open air “healing mode” that lets the driver enjoy the fresh air and exposure to nature, and the third is a “rest mode” where the user can park, kick back and relax. See how it transforms —> Designer: Kyoung-duck Ryu - Related posts: |
