Posted: 10 Mar 2014 09:50 AM PDT Sit & Stand is a hands-free walking assistance device for people with temporary foot, ankle or leg injuries. The design challenge was to create a crutch replacement that eliminates the limitations of traditional forearm and underarm crutches. Thanks to its adaptable form, users of any gender or size can enjoy simple daily activities like opening doors, using stairs, and carrying objects with ease and independence. Care to Know What Lucciola Means? Posted: 10 Mar 2014 08:47 AM PDT Our Italian friends tell us that lucciola means fireflies and the Lucciola here is an integrated hat, coat and umbrella stand. Love the lights that illuminate like fireflies and blend of cement and iron in its construction. A very stylized way to welcome people home, I can see it adding chic to the décor. The New iWatch With iOS 7 And No Siri Posted: 10 Mar 2014 03:52 AM PDT Being practical is the main reason behind shunning Siri, speakers and mobile connectivity in this new iWatch concept. As a typical SmartWatch, this concept hosts some very non-typical features. For example, to save on battery consumption, the design includes solar energy and wireless recharging. Siri and cellular connectivity are not included because of their power draining capabilities. The designer hopes that the imaginative iOS 7 will have off-line Maps integration. Design-wise buttons and holes are not a part of the deal. This is because watches are used to rough usage; fewer buttons and slots mean lesser damages and more room for the battery. A notification via vibrations is perhaps its best feature and something most SmartWatches should consider. Overall a near representation of time! Designer: Cristian Tomas Moyano - Related posts: |
A Different Kind of iPad Cover Posted: 10 Mar 2014 12:01 AM PDT Twelve South presents SurfacePad for iPad mini, a multifunctional, luxury leather cover for iPad mini that introduces several innovative features never before seen in an iPad cover. Made with genuine Napa leather, the super-smooth cover doubles as a hands-free viewing stand and desktop typing wedge. Check out its many uses –> The stylish leather wrap protects both sides of iPad without hiding or disguising your iPad’s beautiful profile. SurfacePad adheres to the back of the iPad instead of snapping into a shell or temobing it in bulky plastic and rubber. Flip open the cover and SurfacePad even wakes up your iPad Mini. Another clever built-in feature is a small kickstand that turns this sleek cover into a typing wedge and desktop display. Flip down the kickstand and a hidden row of magnets grabs the edge of your iPad. Just like that, your device is resting at a comfortable angle for working. Designer: Twelve South - Related posts:
