Posted: 20 Feb 2014 09:40 AM PST Statistics show that a number of accidents happen due to the difference of radius between inner wheels and the outer wheels, when a heavy-duty truck is turning. To help negotiate the turn, an infrared ray system with sensors, called the Safety Line, is installed on both sides of the truck. This line can detect the status of the turn and alerts pedestrians or other vehicles in the danger zone of the turn. The sensors also alerts the truck driver and the people who are too close to the truck. Designers: Jih-Yan Li, Min-Yi Lin & Kuan-Chih Wang - Related posts: |
Posted: 20 Feb 2014 09:33 AM PST I am not a medic, but I do know that if you apply pressure to a wound, the compression generally helps to heal and alleviate the pain. The Anti-compression Bandages has been designed on the lines to help ease out the pain thanks to an external compression integrated within the bandage. It even allows paramedics to monitor the wound safely. I guess the concept can be tested in limited conditions to see if it really works. What do you think? Anti-compression Bandages is a 2013 red dot award: design concept winner. Designers: Ya-Chuan Ko & Chi-Hung Lo - Related posts: |
Posted: 20 Feb 2014 12:45 AM PST Mark Twain once observed that ropes possess an occult power to tangle themselves when you don’t look at them. Ropes and chords haven’t changed a bit in the past century. Thats why we all need ‘Cliphone’ to bond our headphone cables into submission. Designed in minimal style, the intuitive chord binder is a breeze to use. Constructed with silicon and and a Nylon snap button, ‘Cliphone’ can stretch itself to accommodate the fattest loop of headphone cables. Wish they came in a latex variant too Designer: Seter Wu Guest Post by Akhil T. - No related posts. |
A Keychain That Opens More Than Doors Posted: 20 Feb 2014 12:24 AM PST SQWK should house the keys to the Swiss army HQ. This compact, multitalented keychain is capable of 6 functions including a pry-bar, nail-puller, bottle opener, one phillips head and two slotted head screwdrivers. CNCed from steel with black oxide finish, this rugged tool is quite comfortable to carry around. Designer: Dylan Luxa Guest Post by Akhil T. - Related posts: |
Posted: 20 Feb 2014 12:01 AM PST What if an iPhone could defend itself against the harshness of the environment it is subjected to? In a world less perfect than what Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive expected it to be, KLOQE comes to the rescue. This next to naked Aluminium iPhone case mimics the profile of the phone with such a slender profile that the entire KLOQE + iPhone 5 combo is slimmer than the naked iPhone 4. And thats not even the best part. The slide to lock, two part, KLOQE’s patent-pending design makes it the only all-aluminum iPhone case that does not affect your phone’s reception. The knight in shining armour; well matte Aluminium in this case (no pun intended), comes in multiple hues so that your phones can reflect your personality.
