Posted: 28 Aug 2013 10:14 AM PDT Skateboarding is cool, but, unfortunately, protective gear like knee pads and helmets just aren’t! They lack aesthetic appeal and are often too difficult and time consuming to put on… causing many to avoid protecting their body at all. The PLEXUS collection of gear finds safety, flexibility, ventilation, performance and cool looks in an intricate voronoi web that adapts to the wearers movement. Who would’ve guessed that the application of this simple pattern would be such a huge improvement! Designer: Subinay Malhotra - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Aug 2013 01:11 AM PDT The Bone is an elegantly designed extension cord, inspired by the form of the vertebra. It features an innovative and interactive structure that consists of only four parts. Each part performs an important function such as rotating, flowing current, etc. The module features two holes for plugging 10 of outlets and the design makes it four times smaller than existing extension cede. Each part of the Bone can rotate 45 degrees. Designer: Jeongbeom Han - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Aug 2013 01:01 AM PDT The Jell Balls is a home appliance that can be used for cleaning up the floor. It basically uses the jell surface tension principle to make the eight jell surfaced balls to roll around a space and clean it. The appliance analyses an area and then disperses the balls to do their job. The balls can be used in wet areas like the bathroom and the kitchen. Jell Balls is a 2013 Electrolux Design Lab Semifinalist. Designer: Juan Lee - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Aug 2013 12:01 AM PDT To say that Igor Sirotov’s Frame house is minimal doesn’t begin to do it justice! Everyday interior elements like seating, beds, lighting and tables are few in number but full of interesting and thoughtful textures and materials, making them a perfect foreground to highlight the steel, wood and concrete canvas. A stunning example of minimalism, the Frame house proves it’s not about what’s inside, it’s about what’s not! Designer: Igor Sirotov - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Aug 2013 12:01 AM PDT The Bullet lighting collection celebrates the versatility of an age-old material, yet one that isn’t commonly used in lighting… concrete! The coneal shape of each shade makes it a great pendant option but can also be positioned on the floor or shelf for directional lighting. A spectrum of vibrant color options give this otherwise stark designpouts the right amount of pop. Designers: Itai Bar-On & Oded Webman - Related posts:

‘Pick Up Stix’ And Tell The Time Posted: 28 Aug 2013 12:00 AM PDT The Cross Over Watch is a good take on the game "Pick up stix", it features contemporary and graceful hands that appear to be precariously balanced rotate around the dial. What makes it striking is the way the hands are slightly askew to the center giving this timepiece an elegant vibe.
