Posted: 30 Jul 2013 10:19 AM PDT A single modular element is the essence of this new shelving system by Movisi. With its unique design and ability to be changed instantly, the BUILD series provides a striking and flexible interior solution. Hangable or stackable, the irregular sections can be arranged in a variety of configurations and still maintain an interior horizontal surface for placing objects. More than a shelf, it also makes for a great partition, display, wall cladding or even a seat! BUILD is made with 100% recyclable and emission-free ARPRO (Expanded Polypropylene), a high-performance plastic foam, traditionally used in the automotive industry. It is lightweight, allergy friendly, toxic-free, high versatile and has an excellent strength to weight ratio. Designer: Movisi - Related posts: |
Posted: 30 Jul 2013 05:10 AM PDT The SLO_Gen Table is a remarkable piece of innovation in the field of furniture design. The organic design is made using HI-MACS and has become the focal point of Gensler's Los Angeles office lobby! It was designed using the brief – create a piece that can accommodate standing and sitting space for guests and storage for the firm's design publications. Solid Surface HI-MACS is the table's predominant surface material and looks divine with the use of wood. It sports an awesome curvature. Posted: 30 Jul 2013 04:45 AM PDT I guess utopia for designers will be a place where they can sketch on paper using a pen that has built in tools of Color Markers, Tablets and Adobe CS. Not yet there, but relatively close, the PLUM concept is a pen that features a CMYK ink cartridge and is mixed with microfluidic technology (commonly used in medicine industry) to create a specific color that is desired. As you sketch, your drawing gets auto saved to a micro SD chip in the pen's cap. Naturally, you hook up the cap to a computer and get editing on your design! Select four different pen tip sizes: 0.3, 0.5, 3,7- mm size. Designer: Yeban Shin - Related posts: |
Posted: 30 Jul 2013 12:01 AM PDT The WRLDCLCK simplifies telling time in different cities in one clever and awesomely simple device. The user can personalize the clock to their liking by adding as many hour hands as desired. Each hand is preprinted with various world cities and blank on the other so custom stickers can be added for other locations. Just snap on the different cities and forget it! And if you think wall clocks are passé, there’s also an app for your smartphone! Designer: Robert Nightingale - Related posts: |
Posted: 30 Jul 2013 12:01 AM PDT The Farm 432 project explores growing the other white meat: BUGS! Named 432 for the number of hours it takes 1 gram of black soldier fly eggs to turn into 2.4 kilograms of delicious larvae protein, the device makes it possible to harvest up to 500kg of larvae per week (roughly two meals) for those who can stomach it! Hit the jump to see how it works and watch designer Katharina Unger fry up some bugs! Designer: Katharina Unger
