Two sides of one solar-powered light clip Posted: 28 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST For the generations surrounding mine, there’s always going to be something magical about a digital product that requires only solar power to work. Because of this – and because the product we’re about to look at here is simply wonderful – it simply must be made. Or we hope it’ll be made: it’s the Clip•Holding the sunshine by a group working at the Shannxi University of Science and Technology, and it’s cute! This conceptual design takes its physical form from the simple chip clip – or that’s what you might know it as. The larger area on one side of the clip is a solar panel that collects power throughout the day. On the other side you’ve got a touch switch and an LED light panel that shines rather brightly when you’ve made a tap. The energy is transferred from one side of the device to the other through some simple contacts that roll around the center clip contact. Posted: 28 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST Everyone knows that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, right? The Cullinan Diamond Blender aims to appeal to the feminine side with a raw diamond shape that definitely stands out from the archetype. To improve vorticity and consistency, the functional shape of the internal canister was adapted to the tendency of fluids to naturally keep a continuous momentum when stirred. Just don’t give it to your girlfriend when she’s expecting actual diamonds… you might just get slapped! An ergonomic grip also makes it super easy to pour with a more natural and comfortable grip. Modern Toys with Classic Crafstmanship Posted: 28 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST The thoughtfully designed Coop line of toys brings us back to a simpler time and place when handcrafted perfection (not mass production) was the method of choice. The rideable bike and 2 trikes are an ecological alternative that combine reclaimed wood with premium hardware – easily constructed right out of the box with a simple allen wrench. Better yet, after the toy has outlived its life, you can send it back to be reclaimed again to build new toys and receive a 10% reimbursement! Designer: Federico Rios - Related posts: |
Posted: 28 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST One look at the Split Personality table’s contrasting aesthetic and it’s easy to understand the clever name! The coffee table was inspired by designer Axel Yberg’s own self reflection on his constant personal battle of opposing emotions when presented with a design challenge. With steel legs on one side & black walnut on the other, the materials meet in the middle to create an interwoven representation of the harmony created when everything finally comes together. Something many designers can relate to! Designer: Axel Yberg - Related posts:
