Wild Stroller of the Savannahs Posted: 01 Oct 2012 09:45 AM PDT The latest design from Casualplay, Kudu Stroller, just goes to show that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places! Inspired by the beautiful African antelope of the same name, this wild design takes from the elegant yet robust body of the animal. Simplistic lines and invisible welds also give it a seamless, minimalist aesthetic. It’s not only pretty, but super functional. The design features a collapsible backrest with 3 positions. Posted: 01 Oct 2012 08:09 AM PDT God forbid if you are the unlucky bloke who gets to sit on a table that houses the office printer. They are a blessing and a bane, simply because they occupy so much of space. Maybe this is why concepts like the Retractable Printer are much more appealing. Imagine a sleek device that spans out according to the size of paper you are printing. Simple thought for a practical way of working in an office! Super! Most Buzzed Designs of September 2012 Posted: 01 Oct 2012 07:35 AM PDT I completely resonate with Edward Tufte's philosophy that ‘good design is a lot like clear thinking made visual.’ A lot of times what we can't express in words, because we lack linguistic skills or have communication barriers. At times like this, a simple illustration of our intent is sufficient to express our thoughts, as long as we are crystal clear about them. Here is a look at ten outstanding designs from September that were apparent with their 'clear thinking made visual' intent. 10) Light Bird – Solar Lamp by Jang Eun Hyuk 9) PUSHit Toilet Seat Design by Hoe Yeong Jung 8 ) Philou le Caribou – Lighting Decor by Maxime Dubreucq, Vincent Claudepierre, & Benoit Louzaouen 7) The Swing Table by Duffy London 6) Sony Xperia X Concept Phone by Abel Verdezoto 5) Lékué Citrus Spray by Alberto Arza and Joan Rojeski 4) Take Frame Camera by Eunae Ko 3) Cannondale CERV Bike by Priority Designs 2) Kanavos Smartphone Concept by Alexandros Stasinopoulos 1) Slide Chopping Knife by Andreas Kalt - Related posts:

Posted: 01 Oct 2012 12:02 AM PDT If you’ve ever tried to brush your dogs teeth then you’re familiar with the awkwardness that ensues. If they only knew you were trying to help! Here’s a clever way to trick stubborn pups into cleaning their teeth. The Q-Ring is like any other pull/chew toy but features a squishy bristled end that removes plaque, reduces gingivitis and stimulates gums. Simply twist the tactile, soft grip handle inside-out and it doubles as a frisbee! Designer: Yunfan Tan - Related posts: |
Innovation in Surgical Illumination Posted: 01 Oct 2012 12:01 AM PDT The APOLLO concept is a modular lighting system that provides flexibility in operating room illumination through the use of laser technology. Using laser light increases luminous efficiency from 170 lumen/watt opposed to LEDs with 100 lumen/watt and allows for more compact dimensions. Built-in sensors adapt to every situation by changing the direction of light and adjusting brightness autonomously as surgeons move around, allowing them to focus on the task at hand without interruption.
