Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 31 Aug 2012 06:21 AM PDT I like designer Fu Chun Wan's thought process that music and cooking go hand in hand. When its soul comforting food cooked with love, it makes the whole process much easier and appealing. And surely aids like the Tempo Blender help a lot! The machine not only tells you how much of the ingredients you need to add, to make the perfect glass of slush or cocktail; but also blends in sync with the tempo beat belted out. In short you end up having fun and attempting tricks like how Tom Cruise performs in the movie 'Cocktail.' Electrolux Tempo Blender is a 2012 Electrolux Design Lab Top 30 entry. Posted: 31 Aug 2012 05:41 AM PDT The Rub View Camera is quite a clever concept. It builds up on where the Polaroid camera left off. Don't be fooled by the slim design and packaging because beneath all that glitz is a camera capable of transferring images to a blank paper in a jiffy. The designer has not elaborated on it, but the little we know is that it works on the concept of transferring the image like how you would do screen printing on cloth. It certainly adds a kitsch element to taking pictures and sharing them. The Rub View is a 2012 if Design Talents Entry. Designer: Ji ho Jung - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 Aug 2012 12:02 AM PDT The trend of automotive-inspired watches has existed for a while, but the Redline concept by Kornwit D is one of my all-time favorites. It’s immediately obvious that the face and bezel are directly inspired by the car tachometer, but the blue, yellow and red color scheme do more than remind us of revving engines. Its aesthetic has a sort of Mondrian neoplastic feel that cleverly draws awareness to each passing hour with intensifying color. Designer: Kornwit Damrongwisetpanit - No related posts. |
Posted: 31 Aug 2012 12:01 AM PDT The Graft table is a sleek and simple design with a unique construction that is both functional and beautiful. Each of the four legs divaricate (branch out) from under the surface of the table from four points, creating a connection that is both strikingly similar to tree branches and structurally stabilizing. Posted: 31 Aug 2012 12:01 AM PDT Scroll through the alarm sounds on your phone & chances are you won’t find a single one that isn’t just a tad bit annoying. Not the most pleasant way to wake up! The Good Up amplifier aims to make the harsh sound a little softer so the user wakes up comfortably rather than abruptly. Simply place the phone in the polyethylene low density cone & it will muffle out high pitched sounds, emitting only the lower tones. No batteries required & no energy consumed. It’s kinda big, but whatever gets the job done right?! Designer: Dario Martone - Related posts: |
