Posted: 24 Jul 2012 09:53 AM PDT People’s inconsistency in flossing has less to do with not liking the process and more to do with issues of memory and habit development. With this in mind, the Oral Care Habit Development Device was designed into the toothbrush holder as a convenient way to measure and cut floss directly from the holder. The device also includes a timer that gives the user a visual signal and audible beep and can even be controlled with a smartphone app! Designer: Christopher Santos - Related posts: |
Posted: 24 Jul 2012 05:58 AM PDT Simply love the aspect of using cork in a design, and Antonio Joaquim Rocha has got it pat down with the Sourk headphones. Designed for the luxury segment, the headphones combine wireless technology with noble materials such as cork, leather and stainless steel. Apparently the acoustic insulation properties of the cork allow the user to enjoy sounds at full throttle without interfering with the surrounding environment. Knives That Show Us How To Get A Grip Like A Pro Posted: 24 Jul 2012 05:52 AM PDT I consider myself as an amateur cook but the aspect that still intimidates me is the skilful chopping that the professionals execute. The technique of Jamie Oliver is hard to replicate, simply because most kitchen knives do not encourage the proper grip. It may not be obvious to all but you need to grip the knife so that your thumb and index finger pinch the blade forward of the bolster and handle. DesignPro Knives imbibe this and make chopping a breeze. As Chicago Cutlery explain, "Majority of knife designs actually guide the user to hold the knife at the handle, away from the ideal grip. Pros pinch the blade for better control, accuracy and speed – and recommend this position in cooking classes."

Posted: 24 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT Lightness and aerodynamic efficiency are refined to perfection in this single seater concept, the McLaren JetSet. Iconic McLaren styling in the front meets a futuristic backside fit with drag-reducing draped fenders and all. Because there’s no rear seat, the body can taper narrower and lower to further enhance aerodynamics, while ultralight carbon fiber composites in the chassis, body, suspension and wheels keep the 100%-electric car’s weight to a minimum. Posted: 24 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT For those suffering from diabetes, checking blood glucose levels up to 10 times a day can be daunting. The painful finger pricking can be especially disturbing for children. The Blood Buddy was designed to make things a little easier. The testing device takes the form of a whimsical character that can appears to “chomp” on the user’s finger. It’s a great solution for distracting nervous kids from the painful lance and introduces the process in a fun, friendly way! Designer: Hannah Warren - Related posts: |
