Posted: 31 Jul 2012 07:00 AM PDT For no apparent reason Sektorus goes very well with 'sexy', so let's just stick to that. This beautiful quartz watch designed by the good folks at Art Lebedev Studio. It features the body merging with the band. Two wedged displays showcase the hours and minutes/seconds separately; the date appears in a small window. The band is crafted from a flexible silicone material and fits your hand snugly. The body is all aluminum and super sexy! Designer: Art Lebedev Studio - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 Jul 2012 06:47 AM PDT Lucky for some, Guessing Game #13 is here with the inevitable question….what is this? It is an Industrial Design Project, it is something to do with what the Chinese really love; Brits have their own unique way of consuming it and the Indian household would go into a tizzy if this were absent. What is it? This is the Silent Machine. A unique project that repurposes old industrial machines with a new lease of life as a tea service set. As the designer explains, "Every single object can be identified when it is utilized as a part of the whole. Mathematically formulated silhouettes and details contribute to creating an image of mechanical regularity rather than being emphasized on their ornamentation." Simple, elegant, functional and industrial…let's drink a cuppa chai to that! Designer: Eunjae Lee - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 Jul 2012 04:50 AM PDT Winter is far away and so it this concept-to-reality project, notable however is the idea of an alternate solution to keeping shoes dry and warm. Warm Shoestring is a project where shoelaces are made from a specialized fire-resistant material and that plug into an adapter. The adapter regulates the temperature and the string warms up the shoes. Its ideal for countries that experience bitter cold and where shoes take longer to dry up. Posted: 31 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT Arman Kirm’s Fulcrum crutch design features enhanced ergonomics and functionality that together make life just a little easier whether you’re recovering from an injury or suffering from a permanent mobility impairment. Tactile, silicone grips and an adjustable arm support give relief to tired hands and arms and a wide, rubber bottom tip increases traction and decreases injuries related to slipping. The multifunctional design’s arm support can also be removed, instantly turning Fulcrum from a crutch to a cane! Designer: Arman Kirim - Related posts: |
Posted: 31 Jul 2012 12:01 AM PDT It’s hard to find a firewood rack that doesn’t have a rustic, craftsman aesthetic. Those with modern interiors usually end up improvising with a piece of furniture that wasn’t designed for this particular use. In pure white or black, the Fleimio Wood Trolley, however, has a robust yet sleek look that fits in perfectly with contemporary spaces. Oversized wheels make it easy to carry wood inside or move when space is needed. Designer: Tero Jakku - Related posts: |
Star Wars Fans – I Give You X-Rings Posted: 30 Jul 2012 03:00 PM PDT One of my favorite companies Black Badger Advanced Composites just released another amazing set of rings, this time inspired by the Star Wars universe. Appropriately called the X-Rings, each one is graphic in appearance and handcrafted from DuPont Corian. There’s more though – they GLOW! If you’re a Star Wars fan from the original trilogy, it may be time to put away the toy X-Wing and upgrade to an X-Ring. REAL DOPENESS!
