Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 22 Jun 2012 05:37 AM PDT Brooks England uses up a lot of leather to make saddles and offcuts are inevitably generated. To make good use of this premium byproduct, designer Sukjin Moon turned them into fashionable Leather Spectacles. He first tried his hand with a small piece of folded leather structure, which was not too soft or strong. Apparently the leather structure with its strength is appropriate for framing glasses and is flexible enough to comfortably fit human faces. Sukjin explains, "Ergonomics is an important factor considered when designing eyewear. Conventional eyewear made with plastic or steel is evolved into Leather Spectacles with the same craftsmanship used in making shoes." Leather Spectacles is crafted from Offcut Leather and thread and is be under commercial production by Brooks. Designer: Sukjin Moon - Related posts: |
Posted: 22 Jun 2012 05:25 AM PDT Forgot to grab some fork with that Subway salad, no worries we have the Credit Card Cutlery sitting in our wallet, ready to dig into some greens! The idea behind this flat-pack fork was simple, to design a disposable cutlery that can be packed and shipped conveniently, plus it had to address the needs of a specific market. Markets like airlines, local businesses, food festivals and catering companies that can add their logo to the die-cut biodegradable plastic sheet and use it as an advertising space as well. At the end of the day, it's a handy product to have in your bag, just like my dental-floss toothpick that I carry with me everywhere; I call them my everyday essentials! Posted: 22 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT The Dartline 60′ combines superior performance and a refined aesthetic into one dreamy powerboat that’s sure to intrigue. Aggressive shapes, lines and curves are contrasted by a clean, elegant style with impeccable attention to detail. While the perfectly polished wood and white hull/trim complete its sophisticated look, I’d love to see a meaner version in black. I’ll take one of each! Adjustable living space at the stern, hatch-forward skylight, huge sunbathing area, space for you and 5 guests, and a max speed of 60 miles per hour…. what more could you ask for. Posted: 22 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT I’m the worst when it comes to losing the tools in my toolbox – I can never find what I need, which is exactly why I’m loving the latest design from Bolt Group. The ReadyTools series keeps all the components in the handle of the tool and a nifty pull-out tray keeps them organized and tucked safely away until the next time you need them. In regular wrench and socket wrench versions, they’re also a great way to save space or take on the move. Designer: Bolt Group - Related posts: |
Posted: 22 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT Tom Chau’s communications concept, Voice, proves that in a world full of complex technologies like smart-phones and tablets, something more simple can be better. The device serves as an easy-to-use, cost-efficient way to keep in touch with loved ones that doesn’t require much work- simply record a message, select the recipient, and VOILA! – consider it delivered. It’s kinda like a 2-way radio for voicemail. It’s perfect for seniors or young children who might feel overwhelmed by more complicated devices. - Related posts: |
