Simplifying Photography

Posted: 16 Mar 2012 03:44 AM PDT

In this digital era and self-sufficient gadget loving folks, we rarely have to step into a photo studio just to print pictures. Photosensitive is a project that aims to simplify the self-help process where cameras need to hook-up with computers for the printing process. "The application becomes a dimension of the experience, from capturing to archiving and sharing images."

Photosensitive comprises of the following modules: Stenope, Viewer, Contact Sheet, and Memory.

Stenope

  • Touchscreen digital camera that uses standard photograph format (4 x 6 inches).
  • The user shoots the picture at a print-ready size.
  • The interface provides straightforward explanations about light, motion, and depth, allowing the user to quickly grasp the different parameters.
  • Stenope then disappears, serving as a control screen for all the other modules.

Viewer, Contact Sheet, and Memory

  • Viewer allows users to create and present slideshows.
  • Contact Sheet works like a stamp and allows printing on any even surface.
  • The loading base for the paper is also in a 4 x 6 inch format.
  • Memory can store up to 10,000 pictures.
  • Images are automatically downloaded through Wi-Fi and classified.

Photosensitive is a 2011 red dot design concept winner.

Monocasco Again!

Posted: 16 Mar 2012 02:34 AM PDT

The Monocasco Concept Bike is an electric version inspired by the original Ossa monocasco bike of Santiago Herrero. Reliving the legacy of the legendary Sabtiago, who died racing his Ossa in the 1970 Grand Prix, this bike is a fitting tribute. The story goes that Ossa abandoned racing altogether after this tragedy.

Despite its bulky outlook, the bike looks like a quirky ride and is nowhere near a racer. Maybe as a sturdy dependable city bike that doesn't burn much rubber!

Steampunk Style

Posted: 16 Mar 2012 12:03 AM PDT

The RESPONSUM LEVARE C Sub B3 Chair emphasizes a balance between form and function, blurring the line between utilitarian object and decoration. Its cog-like components and combination of latigo leather and maple dowels with high-tech Richlite fiber composite create a pseudo-Victorian “steampunk” aesthetic that’s sure to make it the focal point of any room. Eccentric, but very handsome nonetheless.

4D Table

Posted: 16 Mar 2012 12:02 AM PDT

Inspired by Albert Einstein’s theory on time as a 4th dimension, this table’s steel-mesh glass top represents the space-time continuum and the supports represent four vectors. Even if you’re not big on theories of relativity, there’s no denying that this design’s craftsmanship and cable-work are outstanding!

Screaming Speakers

Posted: 16 Mar 2012 12:01 AM PDT

The Soundmasters speakers are LOUD in both aesthetic and functionality! The cabinet resembles a screaming face with the speaker as the mouth and air vents as the eyes. A multi-angular body creates a unique look that makes each unit appear to sink into the desk and also allows sound to be pointed in different directions.
