A’Design Awards – Your Claim To Fame! Posted: 22 Feb 2012 04:06 AM PST UPDATE: 7 Days Left! Steve Jobs said “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, everything else is secondary.” Finding the correct channels to promote our creativity or even get them recognized are very limited. Design Competitions are a good medium, but is recognition from peers and prize money the only push you need? The A’Design Award and Competition fills the void by highlighting, advertising and advocating good design, designers and design oriented companies. They have the knack of grabbing the attention of press, interactive medias, design critics, distributers and buyers for their award winners. So besides your award winning design being presented at the A’ Design Museum and Gallery in Italy, they also offers an unique ecosystem for designers to sell their winning ideas to sponsor companies. Likewise the companies can bid for the competing design ideas and make offers to buy the designs! Registrations are still open and you can submit into 40 different categories, which include furniture, futurist design, vehicle and transport design, young design, lighting design etc. Timelines can be found here, Dates and Fees are here and find the answer to ‘What is A’Design?’ here. Submissions Close: 29th February 2012 - Related posts: |
Wind Chime for Better Illuminations Posted: 22 Feb 2012 01:21 AM PST I have a soft spot for wind chimes and love the subtle music they play. On a spiritual level they are supposed to keep negativity away and increase the good vibrations. A bunch of designers have upped their karmic good by designing a lamp based on the principles of the chimes. The only difference is that the wind movement causes the lamp to harness energy to power the lamp rather than sound the soothing "clinks". Magic MacBook Pro with iRemote Posted: 22 Feb 2012 12:39 AM PST We are swamped with many iPad 3 rumors and with the numerous 'leaks' in the media, I'm sure March is worth waiting for! On a side note, we have here the Magic MacBook Pro vying for attention. The concept features a sliding trackpad that holds an iRemote within. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled device acts as function buff, allowing you to manage your music, media and "computer stuff" in a streamlined way. Designer: Enrico Penello - Related posts: |
Pill Box for Alzheimer Patients Posted: 21 Feb 2012 08:43 AM PST Memo is a portable Pill box for alzheimer patients to remind them when and how many pills to take, thanks to an ingenious use of LEDs. A light with a specific color indicates the color of the box the patient has to take from. Traditionally, medications are divided up using standard trays separated by days but even some advanced patients have a hard time remember what day it is. Made of soft touch rubber, aluminum, a small circuit board, battery and LED lights. It would only cost $20. Good idea? Designer: Jules Toulemonde - Related posts: |
Posted: 21 Feb 2012 08:37 AM PST Co-existence is a project by Ryan Jongwoo Choi exploring the “oneness” between man and nature. The beautifully cut ash frames appear to be balancing on an unsteady center point but it’s really solid granite. There’s something very modern about the execution even though it’s supposed to be a nostalgic study. I like it. Designer: Ryan Jongwoo Choi - No related posts. |
