Posted: 09 Sep 2014 06:20 AM PDT The unique thing about the iWash faucet is that it gives a visual representation of the bacteria and other germs present on our hands, which diminish as we lather and get them clean. No doubt, the best was to keep infections in check is by washing our hands as often as possible. Building on this theory, the iWash is a pretty neat innovation that nudges us in the right direction. Basically it lays importance on creating awareness and practicing self-sanitization. Designers: Yan-Jang Cheng, Mu-Chern Fong, Hui-Chuan Ma & Pei-Chih Deng - Related posts: |
Posted: 09 Sep 2014 06:04 AM PDT Time and again we see designers repurposing everyday objects into something more stylish and sophisticated than their original purpose. For example, we have here the Bottle Humidifier Mini, which is the fusion of precision engineering and aesthetic design. Its native intention is akin to a medicinal bottle, however in its refined version it's everything that a humidifier should be. Hook it up via USB and experience powerful supply of humidity required by your personal space – bedroom, office, or living room. Designer: Cloud and Co for 11+ - Related posts: |
Posted: 09 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT Kiing is the first activity tracker designed specifically for skiers. Placed at the front and back of the skis, the system uses GPS, an accelerometer, and other sensors to monitor velocity, turns, and other data which are transmitted via Bluetooth to a wrist-worn device for interpretation. With this information, skiers can not only hone their skills but compete with friends and other skiers via social media sharing! Designer: Lucas Ortiz Estefanell - Related posts: |

Posted: 08 Sep 2014 11:23 AM PDT The Knowing Trashcan is design research project that focuses on how a small awareness change can impact people's attitude towards recycling. The trashcan imparts trivia based on the kind of trash disposed, thus making us aware of its positive impact. For example it may tell us how disposing of plastic bottles can help us save fuel…down to the specific amount! Talk about lasting impressions! Designer: Xinyi Wang - Related posts: |
