Posted: 04 Sep 2014 11:24 AM PDT The 'Way Out Light' is a fire alarm and sprinkler system that activates the lighting for the emergency exit route in the event of a fire evacuation. The purpose of the system is to contain the spread of fire, illuminate the pathway to the nearest exit and keep people away from danger. Since it's all tightly integrated, it looks to be a foolproof system. Designers: Hwang Jong Gyu, Lee Sung-ho and Choe Heun Guk - No related posts. |
Posted: 04 Sep 2014 10:28 AM PDT The Octagon-1 task lamp combines the best of simple, raw materials to achieve its modern industrial aesthetic. The focal point of the design is a faceted concrete base which allows it to be positioned at three different angles. Mounted in the base is a milled solid wood casing which contains the LED strip, light diffusing cover and electrical components. Purposeful yet organic, its a warm addition to any desk or office space! Designer: Fyodor Lazariev - Related posts: |
The Smarter Street Sign Redesign Posted: 04 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT This cleverly designed urban sign, simply called Index, helps residents and visitors alike find what they are looking for fast! Unlike basic street signs, it provides viewers with an “index” to all the businesses and facilities on a given street. At each crosswalk or intersection, pedestrians can take a quick look to find a new place that strikes their fancy, or easily navigate with their sights set on specific stores. Vid after the jump! Posted: 04 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT However useful, IV units can and do become dangerous when neglected. In serious cases, the back-flow of blood from gravity can cause tremendous pain, phlebitis and bruising. With a little help from tablet tech, the E-Drip Stand aims to heighten awareness of each individual IV. The stand itself detects the weight of the bag and relays real-time status to the caretaker’s smart device, also alerting when it’s time to change bags. Rooms and patients are easily identified via a graphic map on the screen, making the nurse rounds more efficient and effective. A Stand for All Your Tablet Needs Posted: 03 Sep 2014 11:58 AM PDT Remember way back when, I wrote about these minimalistic iPhone stands with space age “gecko feet” instead of using traditional adhesives or magnets? Well the genius behind the SETA Smartphone Stand is back at it again with the SETA Tablet stand. Same idea, similar design, and of course – awesome “gecko feet” which is technically called NanoSuction. Those that already have the smartphone stand can get a matching tablet stand because your mother told you to always coordinate. There’s just one day left in this Kickstarter project but they’ve already surpassed their funding goal. This is your chance to lock in the special pricing of $49. I got my hands on an early model and it works just as beautifully as the smartphone stand despite the iPad and iPad mini being heavier. Not an Apple fanboi? No worries because it works with any tablet. I’m looking at you Galaxy and Nexus owners. Designer: Project by George Bashaw + 1.0 Innovations - Related posts: |
