Posted: 02 Sep 2014 09:52 AM PDT While traditional blood glucose meters only display a snapshot of your levels, Sugar (love the name!) uses a continuous skin glucose meter to monitor how your levels change over time. The unique wearable unit is designed to display glucose trends so you can see where you’ve been, where you’re going and how your levels are affected by food and activity. Used in tandem with a smartphone app, wearers can take a quick glance at their wrist to check their immediate status, or access their long-term recordings via their phone at any time. Posted: 02 Sep 2014 02:50 AM PDT I have hired a trainer to help me plan my exercise routine and one of her main tasks whilst I workout is to keep an eye on my posture. It is very easy for us to get it wrong, simply because our muscles in those area are weak and tend to stay in their comfort zone. This of course results in injury. To prevent this, especially when you are working-out alone, we have here the Smart Trainer concept. The concept is a projection camera that keeps an eye on your posture and shows you the corrected form. I love it for its intuitiveness and the promise of keeping you safe. Posted: 02 Sep 2014 12:20 AM PDT The thing about Steve Jobs is that although a genius, his barefoot days didn't add to his creativeness (Read his book!). If anything, I'm sure they caused him sore, calloused feet. So how about being a new-age genius with a kind heart? Guanaco Shoes is the brainchild of native Argentinean designer Maximo Cornet who roped in his pal Manuel Padro to create the a new shoe design, that promises to blow your socks off! With features like comfort, traction, flexibility, weight, durability, lifespan, resilience, and all around awesomeness, we caught up with the team to know more about the project. It was heartening to learn that Maximo Cornet, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010, did not let his physical setback hamper his quest to design comfortable, trendy and authentic pieces of footwear – ever seen in Argentina. Essentially, genuine bonds of friendships and community have given birth to this project. The crux of these sock-less shoes is to bring together quality elements and design, and offer the design-conscious community a pair of shoes that is based on the ideas and inspirations drawn from the public, rather than top-down. The beauty of the design is that it appeals to all ages and across all demographics. Moms and Dads who are looking for practical shoes, shoe-addicts who can always do with another pair, students, the traveler, the camper, the design-advocate, the casual thinker, the luxury seeker, the techie – just about everyone! Each hand-made shoe also brings an employment opportunity to native Argentineans, where the shoes are manufactured. The authentic Alpargata footwear claim to pamper your feet in a way no other shoe does. Get one, to know one! Only if you could travel to the fresh, mountainous regions of Cordoba, Argentina to check out the handiwork! Fret not… here are some more details for you…
As a Kickstarter Campaign, the shoes hope to bring much joy to your feet as they intend to help the local Argentina team. So to sum it up, a pair of classy shoes with an awesome sole and authentic soul! Get yours here. Designer: Guanaco Shoes [ Buy it Here ] - Related posts:

Posted: 02 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT With it’s aerodynamic shape, winged seat and functional rivet accents, the C5 bar stool subtly reminds of aviation, but it also draws inspiration from the iconic Googie architecture of the 1950s. With its exaggerated geometries and spacey shapes, its a quirky addition to industrial-style interiors. Presented in a stark white and natural wood contrast, it’s also sophisticated enough to compliment kitchen islands or the household bar. Designer: OEDESD2 - Related posts: |
Sculptural Semitransparent Seating Posted: 02 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT Camou is an everyday chair that focuses on variation for the body. Inspired by the posture in horseback riding, as well as textile constructions from architecture, the chair provides flexibility of movement to create a variety of sitting positions well beyond the norm! With its form the result of function, the result is an organic shape enhanced by a “transparent” 3D textile that creates interesting visual effects as the viewer changes perspective. It’s something totally different… DO WANT! Designer: Christian Sjöström - Related posts: |
