Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 15 Sep 2014 08:19 AM PDT This audio device, called Joe, will be your bestie when it comes to your personal office space at work. When surrounding noise pollution is disturbing your flow, Joe produces white noise (a sound composed of all audible frequencies to the human ear) to essentially “cancel-out” cacophony so you can focus. It’s like being in your own imaginary bubble of isolation when you don’t have the option to close the door! Vid after the jump! Designers: Schmitt Nicolas & Hélène Casado

Posted: 15 Sep 2014 01:11 AM PDT Traditional maracas are hollow balls made from dried gourd shell or coconut shell filled with seeds or dried beans. The new-age version is a kinetic-powered version that self-illuminates whenever used. Ideal for situations like disaster or refugee camps, the modified musical instrument provides some fun and entertainment in an otherwise drab situation. Posted: 15 Sep 2014 12:01 AM PDT There’s little to not like about a candle, especially if it smells good… but, if there is one gripe, it’s that most are limited (aesthetically) to the following: country, hippy, tribal, or just plain cheesy! For the design-minded, the NAO series of scented candles look as good as they smell. Each unique transparent glass vase is hand blown by expert craftsmen before wax & fragrance by a renowned perfumer in Grasse, France are added. Some simple, others futuristic… they’re meant to last as a sculptural object well beyond the lifespan of the candle itself. Designer: Jérôme Olivet - Related posts: |
