Posted: 01 Jul 2014 05:39 AM PDT The Garden Pod has one big thing working in its favor – it utilizes the external walls of a dwelling rather than clamoring for space indoors. This modular green house is designed so that it can be fitted onto exteriors of a building and can take advantage of the natural energy sources. A handy app allows you to control the setting of the pod and also relays essential information such as which vegetable is ripe enough and how much compost is available. The Garden Pod transforms organic garbage into compost and even calculates the percentage of nutrients each plant needs. The Pod is capable of growing nano bionic sprouts that develop into fresh vegetables in a short span of 24 hours. The over-ripe vegetables get turned into compost automatically. Interestingly, this concept is one of the short-listed Top 35 entries of the 2014 Electrolux Design Lab competition. Designer: Ovidiu Subțire - Related posts: |
Posted: 01 Jul 2014 12:01 AM PDT Weather is a fickle thing, and resources for checking the weather are about as reliable. If you live in a coastal region, you know that conditions can change in the amount of time it takes to get to the beach. BloomSky is a unique crowdsourcing system that consists of a durable outdoor solar-powered camera with various climate sensors and a mobile app. Together they allow users to view live video and data of weather conditions wherever a stake is planted. Before heading out, check the pressure, UV, rain, temp, and humidity from anyone’s personal sensor, anywhere. Designer: BloomSky - Related posts: |
Posted: 01 Jul 2014 12:01 AM PDT Bluetooth speakers are great n’ all but they’re still dependent on your mobile device in order to access your perfectly curated playlists. It not only drains your battery, but the music can be interrupted by calls and apps or even walking out of range. The Cloudlink speaker explores integrating an OS, wifi/wired connection, and easy touch display into one unit that can access your tunes from the cloud, a Pandora account or other apps. It not only frees up your phone but its slim profile makes it easy to move between your favorite rooms. Designer: Jingwei Dang - Related posts: |
