Editor’s Note – Tranism Episode 13 Posted: 25 Jun 2014 11:11 AM PDT I meant to post this Monday but you know a cat gets busy. MEOWWWW. That made no sense. So what? I’m the editor. I do what I want around here. I love you. It’s been cray here at the YD offices. I say offices because we’re located in LA, NYC, TOKYO, VANCOUVER and our newest office in India. YASSS we international! New site coming soon. New developments in our CKIE store. Possibly a collaboration with a manufacturer to launch a contest where one of your designs gets mass produced. Yes, it really is that juicy. On top of all that, I went to a wedding. Hit the jump! I went back up to my stomping grounds in San Francisco for a friend’s wedding. EVERYBODY is getting married now and I’m still single. I guess playing with futuristic products has its own perks. I’m sure marriage is wonderful but I’m not the marrying type. Fast forward to 5 years later and you see my sashaying down the aisle screaming “I got married y’all!” in episode 122. In the meantime, check out episode 13. Around the web:

Posted: 25 Jun 2014 09:36 AM PDT It's the law of attraction: you're having a trashy morning and just when you're heading out the door with a cuppa java on the go… you spill it on your shirt. The only difference this time around is that instead of fretting, you slide on the Electrolux Instant Cleaning Glove and wipe out all traces of that offending coffee stain in a jiffy. The neoprene glove disintegrates any stain or dirt from fabrics using the combination of nanotechnology and ultrasound. Features:

This digitally enhanced air purifier looks pleasing in the home environment and also comes with an aroma-dispensing feature. I love the simple aesthetics combined with the functionality. Posted: 25 Jun 2014 12:01 AM PDT Following the success of its predecessor, the Felt wall clock, the FeltTwo brings the same simplistic, soft aesthetic to your bedside! With a closer look, you’ll notice a perfect balance of materials in pressed felt and bamboo. Modern touches like laser engraving on the bamboo invoke a sense of fine craftsmanship. It’s sure to make getting up in the morning just a little easier… I mean, who could be mad at that face?! Designer: Sebastian Herkner for LEFF Amsterdam - Related posts: |
Posted: 25 Jun 2014 12:01 AM PDT Oscar Viñals’ AWWA-VA “GIGAbay” concept takes green tech to the skies in the form of a giant cargo plane. Its unique oversized, front-loading holding bay is adaptable to a variety of goods including bulk packages and even other aircraft. Its powered by four hybrid engines with supplemental power from superconductive technologies, a fuel cell stack, wind generators and solar energy, making it the eco-friendliest way to fly. Big structure, little impact! Designer: Oscar Viñals - Related posts: |
Posted: 25 Jun 2014 12:01 AM PDT If you’re reading this on your computer right now, chances are you AREN’T one of the vast groups of people lacking electricity (and therefore light) in the world. The Infinite Light is for them! Designed as a replacement for dangerous kerosene lamps, it harnesses the suns energy during the day to provide safe light at night. It actually kills two birds with one stone by using a ready-to-use flexible solar panel and battery system that can be placed directly in discarded plastic bottles. Once inside, it’s protected and ready to use for a lifetime. Designer: Dr. Hakan Gürsu of Designnobis - Related posts: |
