Posted: 15 May 2014 08:20 AM PDT The Referendum Hub aims to bring public awareness to the Scottish Independence Referendum in late 2014. By wearing either a UK or Scottish wristband, users can access interactive hubs located at public bus stations and receive current updates on the trail vote. Status and location-based opinions are visualized as a combination of red or blue lights. Users can also access a mobile site for more detailed information and expansive maps. Posted: 15 May 2014 06:58 AM PDT Attracto is an air cleaner that uses electrostatic attraction to trap the dust on its surface and then clean it. The reason why TV screens, PCs and electronic devices accumulate so much of dust is because they generate an electrostatic field, which attracts the dust. The Attracto is designed as a glass circular device that is powered by induction. It features two rotating blades that clean the glass once the dust is trapped The central display is the control hub and allows you to change the intensity of the electrostatic field and the movement of the blades. Attracto is one of the shortlisted hundred-odd entries at the 2014 Electrolux Design Lab Competition. You can vote for this or any other entry before May 16th. Posted: 15 May 2014 06:53 AM PDT The Conveyor Chopping Board is an all-in-one self-cleaning board and scale. The main idea behind this design is to overcome the hygiene and sanitation aspects of a conventional chopping board. We all know that wooden ones are the best, but maintaining their sterility is a big problem. The way this design works is that it weighs the food portion while chopping it and keeps the part of the board being used as sterilized as possible. It just makes your cooking life easier. The only bug you’ll want in your bedroom! Posted: 15 May 2014 12:01 AM PDT The idea for the BUG closet is the result of a stroll down the beach where the designer happened upon a sole beetle roaming the sandy shore. In a closed-state, the exterior appears smooth and almost seamless, but open it up to reveal extraordinary functionality in the form of re-customizeable shelves, cubbies, drawers, and even a few hidden compartments. Even if you don’t sit well with the idea of having a giant creepy crawly thing in your bedroom, there’s no denying its artistic beauty. Look inside —> Designer: TRUE Latvia - Related posts: |
A Smart Shelf for Smart Devices Posted: 15 May 2014 12:01 AM PDT Stage is an elegant meeting place for all your rechargeable handheld devices. Designed for tablets and smartphones, it keeps power cords, peripherals, and the devices themselves organized both inside the drawer and on top of the solid wood surface… and since it’s in the business of keeping things tidy, it floats next to the wall, keeping floor space open for a clean aesthetic. Now with hidden soft-close runners, it’s smoother than ever. Own it here! Designer: Spell - Related posts: |
