Posted: 18 Dec 2013 09:44 AM PST Everyone loves the beach, especially kids… but parents know that it can be just as dangerous as it is fun! The Harvey Swim Harness app combination now lets parents rest assure that their little ones will be safe playing in the surf. The child’s smart-harness relays GPS and heart rate/breathing vitals to the system which is accessible via parents’ smartphones. Every child wearing a harness is visible to anyone viewing the app, so other parents are alerted anytime a nearby child is in danger to ensure they have the maximum chance of rescue. Posted: 18 Dec 2013 01:19 AM PST The illume is a bicycle that combines a simple bike design with advanced technology. To overcome the problems of riding at night, the design merges the indicator, brake and headlights into the frame in a way that it affords a safer ride. A lithium-ion battery and an actuator that transforms kinetic energy to electrical energy power the lighting system that is integrated into the frame. Crafted from aluminum and carbon fiber, 'illume' provides complete suspension with a suitable form. Designer: Nikhil Kapoor - Related posts: |
Guerilla Gardening Starbucks Style Posted: 18 Dec 2013 01:04 AM PST Envisioned as a conceptual design for where Starbucks as a brand may be in 2025, the The Starbucks ‘SeedPod’ is the new-age tactic for Guerilla Gardening. As per Freddie's vision, The 'Seed Pods' will be given away at Starbucks location together with free seeds, which are meant for planting in the local community. The aim is to aid replanting areas and aligns with Starbucks sustainable policy. The ‘SeedPods’ sit on an interactive dock and each dock is able to access a map of the local community. On this map users are able to update where they have been using their ‘SeedPods’ and discuss areas in need of redevelopment. Designer: Freddie Jordan - Related posts: |
Posted: 18 Dec 2013 12:01 AM PST The EM (ElectroMagnetic) table explores lesser known aspects of energies and electromagnetic interactions. In short, the table produces a localized electromagnetic field that’s capable of lighting nearby fluorescent tubes without any physical contact. More of a light source than a table, users can now interact with invisible electric energy. Check out the vid to see it in action! Designer: Florian Dussopt - Related posts: |
