Posted: 04 Oct 2013 10:04 AM PDT As customizable as our smartphones might seem, we’re really limited to using the controls exactly how the manufacturer intends. This case-concept explores the use of multi-touch/capacitive sensing beyond the boundaries of the device’s screen. It makes it possible for the user to swipe or touch anywhere they’d like to activate different features. Users can set their own shortcuts and define the controls to their liking, or trigger the device to remember their actions. Make your phone adapt to you, not the other way around! Key features and settings can be controlled using distinctive multitouch gestures anywhere on the device. For example, if the user wants to control music while running, they can do so without being distracted by the screen. Areas beyond the screen can be used to navigate content and applications. With current interfaces, the user’s view of the screen is impaired by the hand, so areas beyond the screen can now be used to navigate content and applications. Read and Listen With The Braille Scanner Posted: 04 Oct 2013 01:11 AM PDT The Eye Ring is a Braille Scanner is that fits on the finger. It helps the sight-impaired to scan, read and even listed to a regular text. The way it works is that the scanner converts the captured images to Braille dots, which can be felt as indents on the users fingertips. Using the Bluetooth headset, you can use the text to voice function and listen to the book. Pretty nifty device! Designer: Yong Jeong - Related posts: |
Posted: 04 Oct 2013 12:01 AM PDT This clever lamp design, called Balance, forces the user to examine the depth of their virtual dependance on tech like their phone, computer, etc., in hopes that they will find a healthy balance. Now, how does an everyday object like a lamp do that? By simply requiring that the user relinquish their phone in order to operate! Like an action/reward psychological game, the user must plug their phone into the attached cable and place it in the tray to activate the lamp. Need light? Gotta put that phone down! Heart of a Car, Soul of a Motorcycle Posted: 04 Oct 2013 12:01 AM PDT Developed with guidance from the Audi Design Concept Studio and KISKA design, the Audi Nexus concept is a purpose-driven and efficient vehicle designed exclusively for the urban landscape. Its slim silhouette combines the advantages of both two and four-wheeled vehicles. It leans into curves for the thrill of riding a motorcycle, but its frame provides the security, safety and stability of a car. No wider than a scooter, it zips through the city and nimbly navigates traffic. Designer: Kiska - Related posts:
