Posted: 29 Apr 2013 08:45 AM PDT The Mercedes Benz Dolphin takes that design cues from the naturally streamlined shape of the aquatic animal, applying lightweight material to its aerodynamic form for maximum efficiency. Powered by a dual-stators maglev DC machine, the lighter and cleaner engine was a natural choice to compliment its focus on environmental friendliness and efficiency. It’s a Flipper-inspired family car of the future! Designers: Liu Shun, Gao Zhiqiang & Chen Zhilei - Related posts:

Posted: 29 Apr 2013 07:10 AM PDT Sometimes innovation is about coming up with new ways to do the same old chore. For example, if you need to access files from your portable Hard Drive and transfer them to a USB key, then you need to route it through the Laptop or PC. Without PC is a device that eliminates this step; it features a touchscreen that facilitates easy transfer of files from the Hard Drive to the USB. Without PC is a 2013 iF design award – concept design entry. Designer: Dongwook Kim - No related posts. |
The Island Kitchen Is Finally Here Posted: 29 Apr 2013 05:05 AM PDT Space crunch + kitchen has always equalled to a compromised kitchen. Realistically speaking, designer Massimo Facchinetti has nailed it with his Ecooking vertical kitchen. This single module kitchen is a hub for sustainable cooking. The technologies of the project highlight energy-saving systems, and come integrated with an internal retrieval of energy system. This is achieved thanks to the close proximity and interaction of appliances with each other and the exchange of heat and moisture.

Posted: 29 Apr 2013 12:04 AM PDT Inspired by Meret Oppenheim’s bird-legged Traccia table, this dual-footed stool applies the functional stability and aesthetic peculiarity of one of our favorite barnyard animal’s feet: the pig! To balance on just two legs, each of the Pig on the Wings stool’s supports loosely mimic the 4 “toes” of a pig hoof. From the barn to the modern loft, this conversation starter is an interesting addition to any space, country or modern. Get it here! Designer: Gentle Giants - Related posts: |
Posted: 29 Apr 2013 12:01 AM PDT The Bordus coffee table takes surprising inspiration from the lines and angles of Stealth Fighters, applying these geometries to form a striking sculptural piece. The polarizing design may appear complex at first glance but is quite simple in form and construction! Nest-able side by side, unique combinations can be created by repeating tables to fit a variety of different sized and shaped spaces. Designer: Ola Giertz - Related posts: |
