Posted: 12 Apr 2013 09:29 AM PDT The Cromatic collection of children’s bedroom furniture blurs the difference between fixed and flexible furnishings in a transformative combination of beds, desk and storage. Kids and parents can customize configurations to their liking with rolling bed and moveable table units that maximize play, work and relaxation space. It’s as functional as it is fun, and teaches us that the line between permanent and portable is not so cut and dry! Check out the vid to see it in action—> Designer: Arasanz

Posted: 12 Apr 2013 02:50 AM PDT Wouldn't it be a boon if you had a system that told you about your upcoming flat tire? I'm not talking about some random card-pulling session but a proper system like the Flat Tire Warning Light. The device combines a Tire Pressure Sensor, LED Technology and Vibration Generation Chip to tell you in advance that a flat tire is coming your way. Get ready! Posted: 12 Apr 2013 02:32 AM PDT Food service in-flights have its own set of hiccups, the narrow aisle doesn't allow passengers to pass through and the trolley design has forever been the same. Flying Trolley brings in a new perspective by utilizing the aircraft ceiling as the trolley ramp. Only an aviation specialist will be able to give us a better idea about its feasibility, but for the moment I can imagine this idea being used in other spaces like a train. What do you think? Posted: 12 Apr 2013 12:01 AM PDT This cleverly designed pill case takes inspiration from an unlikely source, but actually proves to be quite functional! Adopting the form of the iconic Russian Matryoshka doll (you know, the type we loved to play with as kids where there’s a doll nested inside a doll, inside a doll, inside another doll!), the pill container easily divides daily doses in a fun & logical way. Better yet, each tumbler not only holds & separates medication, but also doubles as a drinking glass for the water necessary to swallow pills! Designer: Quentin de Coster - Related posts: |
Posted: 12 Apr 2013 12:01 AM PDT At first glance, you wouldn’t think that the “First Chair” was all that simple to produce with its seemingly complex counterbalance of the legs, seat & back. But it’s actually result of the designers attempt to create a chair entirely from scratch! Using only the minimal amount of tools & materials available in his workshop at the moment, designer Jonathan Dorthe cut each piece from a single flat sheet of Russian plywood & then assembled using basic joinery techniques. It’s minimal in both aesthetic & process! Designer: Jonathan Dorthe for Atelier-D - Related posts: |
