Posted: 01 Mar 2013 05:01 AM PST While some of my friends argue that an iWatch would be a failure, the success of TikTok and LunaTik go to prove that wearable gadgets on the wrist are more than welcome. Keeping this in mind, designer Tolga Tuncer capitalizes on the iWave with his version of the iWatch concept. With the ability to communicate and Cloud sync with the iPhone, iPad, iMac and MacBook, this slim concept watch features a non-touch screen OLED screen teamed with a slim touchpad. Specs include a slim touchpad with MP3 controls at the lower end of the body. It measures only 3.3 cm wide and consists of several sections that are attached to a flexible bracelet body. Posted: 01 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PST Throughout history humans have looked to dolphins with awe, envy & inspiration because of the animal’s speed & strength in the oceans. In this stunning example of biomimicry, the Delfino sonic boat merges inspirations from both dolphins & Japanese trains to create a bullet-fast yet super-efficient watercraft. The “fusiform” shape is rounded at the front and slowly tapers at the tail, allowing water to flow inseparably from the front to the back. Besides the technical advantages, the aesthetic is just amazing. Designer: Yu Hiraoka - Related posts: |
A Green Solution for City Self Sufficiency Posted: 01 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PST Set in the distant future, this large-scale urban farming concept called Greenbelt aims to provide cities with a way to utilize their own resourcefulness rather than depend on costly imported goods. The Greenbelt actually surrounds the city, using vertical, space-saving structures to support aquapronics (fish farming combined with soil free growing). Water is led to a hydroponic system where by-products from the fish are filtered out by plants as vital nutrients. Cleansed water is then recirculated back to the fish and the process continues. Posted: 01 Mar 2013 12:01 AM PST Designed with such minimal style, the Minimato table deserves an equally minimal explanation: 5 bars, 1 table top. We love it. Nuff said! Designer: Matthias Ferwagner - Related posts: |
