Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 26 Feb 2013 08:44 AM PST Considering that they’re the world’s fastest land mammal (and just plain cool), it’s surprising there aren’t more transportation designs inspired by the cheetah. Designer Balázs Filczer’s 2-seater V12 Cheetah-R concept is designed around the animal’s anatomical features which are completely built for speed: muscles, prominent spine, and robust stance. Like the fast cat- it’s lean, and mean, and looks like it’s in a constant state of muscle flexing! Designer: Balázs Filczer - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Feb 2013 03:57 AM PST I simply love the clever use of a knuckle-supported form of the Brolly Rain Umbrella! It not only offers a more secure way of holding the umbrella but like the designer say, the unique finger hole grip allows your thumbs to remain free for safely texting or e-mailing in the rain (something no other umbrella can claim). Because of its unique grip, it relieves pressure on peoples' hands and is very useful for those that suffer from arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Designer: Brollytime - Related posts: |
Posted: 26 Feb 2013 03:48 AM PST The 'Lean to my side' is a conceptual smartphone based more on form. It takes inspiration from the need of people to lean on each other for support. The asymmetric form and curve is on purpose but brings home the use of latest tech possibilities. As a result you have a phone that can expand its display and yet take advantage of a compact form. Posted: 26 Feb 2013 12:01 AM PST PULSE is an all-in-one 3D animation station that aims to make the design process easier and more efficient by simplifying the commercial workspace setup. Noting that designers typically use many different controllers in various stages of animation, the workstation merges all components into one versatile completely modular workstation with 3 monitors and 4 controllers. Perfect for creating 3D visuals like the sweet vid after the jump! Designer: Sangaroon Cheamsawat

Posted: 26 Feb 2013 12:01 AM PST Inspired by the wood-grass of the same name, the Bambú lamp adopts the form of the bamboo’s iconic, column-on-column shape in a multifunctional lighting solution with a subtle oriental feel. The smaller of the two sizes doubles as a stool, side table or even a bucket for keeping your sake cold while the other is primarily purposed as a planter for larger vegetation. In pure white polypropylene resin, it’s a durable and attractive addition to modern spaces, inside and out. Designer: Santiago Sevillano - Related posts: |
