Posted: 07 Dec 2012 09:28 AM PST This award-winning project by Oliver Elst applies the theme of reduction to the aesthetics and structure of this Mercedes concept, in the process creating an entirely new material and light-weight technology. The “sandwiched” material visible throughout the vehicle would consist of 3 layers- 2 for interior and exterior protection and an inner reactive filling that is used for temperature and lighting adjustment. The resulting aesthetic is an organic skin-like shell synthesized into a classic metal framework. Designer: Oliver Elst - Related posts: |
Posted: 07 Dec 2012 08:16 AM PST The Night Communication is a solar empowered, LED silicone glove concept that allows people to communicate with gestures even in pitch darkness. Imagine yourself trekking in the woods and there is a considerable distance between you and the others in your party. In situations like this, using common gesture like how we use in scuba diving can help in communicating over the long distance. These non-slip breathable gloves can be cool accessories even during parties! Designer: Wang Lili - Related posts: |
Posted: 07 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST Especially compared to digital clocks, analog ones are easy enough to change when daylight savings time hits, right? WRONG- there’s always room for improvement! Proof- the Ambigu wall clock has a hanging element on the reverse side that’s very similar to standard designs but with one major difference: dual-positioned hook spaces that make it possible to easily rotate the clock one hour forward or backward in accordance with the time changes. Each hour mark on the clock’s minimal face is exactly the same so no need to take it off the wall! Designer: Jon Liow - Related posts: |
Posted: 07 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST The popularity of glow-in-the-dark graphics on t-shirts has faded somewhat over the years, but this new line of threads aims to bring the signature neon back in an entirely new & innovative way. Utilizing a specialized material, each shirt can be completely customized from front to back by applying a UV laser light. Apply your unique designs or text from up to 40 ft away. Better yet, the shirt can be redesigned after it fades! Hit the jump to see it in action! Designer: Glow Threads - Related posts: |
