Posted: 18 Dec 2012 09:53 AM PST This futuristic vessel called the Shark, is part airfoil/part speed cruiser and flies close to the water, lifted into the air by its aerodynamic hull. The wing shaped blade underneath lifts the vessel as speed increases, creating an effortless glide over high waves. Less hydrodynamic drag means low fuel consumption, higher speed, and a smoother ride. The sharp aesthetic, highlighted in Ferrari red, is sure to be a head-turner on, in and above the water. Posted: 18 Dec 2012 09:07 AM PST For once I am in total agreement with a designer’s explanation so I'm quoting word-for-word! "In general, we like to hang things on a chair. However, the back of chair is not a place to hang clothes. Angry Chair expresses such feeling toward men's behavior by giving up the role of clothes hanger." Designer: Yena Lee - Related posts: |
Posted: 18 Dec 2012 08:22 AM PST You may disconnect the charger cable from your device, but the truth is that power consumption continues till you actually switch it off from the mains. We are well aware of this problem and before this Brady Bunch, we have had quite a few designers come up with solutions to resolve it. What we have here is the PowerCutter, a charger cable with a built-in switch inside the socket. One of the entrant wires connects directly to the switch, and it is turned off when the socket is not connected to a device. As the designers explain, " thus the main circuit is inoperative and it does not draw energy even though the adaptor is still plugged into the wall outlet. Once the socket is plugged into a device, switch will be operated and the circuit is connected." PowerCutter is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner. Posted: 18 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST The Glint lamp is a simple two-part design that combines a single unattached bulb with an angular metal structure for directional light or subtle ambiance. Two magnets embedded in the bulb’s cork socket allow it to be positioned above, below, behind or anywhere else the user chooses. The metal structure is ideal for holding books or magazines – simply position the light to your liking for the perfect glow when it’s time to read. Building Blocks to Get Your Wheels Turning Posted: 18 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST Maykel Roovers’ latest project, titled Critical Block Miniature World, examines the sharp contrast between the innocent, small world-view of children & the serious, large (and at times painful) adult world. A second glance reveals that these cute toy blocks are a miniature version of a nuclear power plant- a representation of modern political & societal issues for adults… but to children, a harmless play thing. No matter who you are, it’s sure to spark your imagination! Designer: Maykel Roovers - Related posts: |
