Posted: 11 Dec 2012 04:33 AM PST Living in cities where torrential rains tend to ruin your bikes for you, I have become accustomed to staying away from them for those few months of monsoons. It's great to hear that incessant rains in Southern China got this quartet set of designers to come up with a bicycle seat that doesn't get wet, despite the heavy downpour. Basically the seat is created using tubes, which is a molded block of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) with a porous structure. Water simply drains through the seat, which is constructed using a carbon fiber frame. The Drain-Saddle is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner. Posted: 11 Dec 2012 04:08 AM PST There is something earthy about using porcelain mugs and ceramic containers versus sterile cold glass and unemotional plastics. So if this Christmas season if you are getting rid of the old or firing up the décor with new fancy stuff, then give this exclusive ceramic collection a good thought, handpicked by me! Tissue Storage by MollaSpace [ Available @ YD Store for $28 ] Here is a ceramic alternative to replace those bulky paper tissue boxes that are just an eye sore. A simple, clean style complemented with a wooden lid is sure to brighten up your interior. Simply pull the wooden lid off to refill with tissue paper. Thabto's Lex, Seth & Carrie by Steven Smith & James Wosiek [ Available @ YD Store for $50 ] Lex, Seth & Carrie are kitchen storage canisters with a dark side. They're designed to hold tea, sugar and coffee. However they also really love to store those sinful treats like biscuits and sweets. Designed with an evil glint in their eyes to tell you what's inside (T: tea, S: sugar & C: coffee), and their heads have room to fit the handle of a spoon. Mood Mugs are beautifully designed hand made; insulated porcelain mugs each having a simple facial expression to reflect the mood. They have double wall insulation, which ensures that the beverage is kept hot but the hands are kept cool. It eliminates the need for a handle and creates more cupboard space. Mood Mugs; Horribly Hungover, Cheeky Chappie and Severely Stressed to join Happy as Larry, Monstrously Moody & Seriously Sleepy. - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Dec 2012 03:54 AM PST As Andrea explains it, the Ag++ Metal Bumper for the iPhone 5 is an aluminium case shaped from a solid aerospace aluminum block by state-of-the-art CNC machinery. Needless to say the case is ultra-shock absorbing and ultra-bend and twist resistant. One of the main complaints I have heard from iPhone 5 (Black Version Only), users is the way the back case's color scratches off. Either they have used it rough, which I doubt, or it's an Apple thing. In any case, superior protecting using gears like the Ag++ Metal Bumper is wise. Designer: Andrea Ponti - Related posts:

Posted: 11 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST This far-out concept by Jurmol Yao takes extreme watersports to an entirely new level. The design falls somewhere between a wakeboard and jet ski, with a propulsion system built directly into the bottom of the board, allowing adrenaline junkies to get serious air or even “board” underwater. How? We’re not sure exactly, but we want it… now. Designer: Jurmol Yao - Related posts: |
Posted: 11 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST Gotta love this awesome kid’s chair by Japanese design firm, h220430! The unique design was inspired by the art of Furoshiki, where all forms of an object are created by wrapping them with a single piece of cloth, and the folding art of Origami where shapes are formed by folding. Flat-pack-ready, the chair arrives as a planar piece to be folded into position by the little one, inspiring their creativity through interaction as they help it come to life! So. Effing. Cool. I need an adult size for myself ASAP! Because it can be returned to a planar shape, it’s easily storable and transportable. Composed entirely of flexible EVA material, it’s lightweight, durable, recyclable, and capable of being produced in a variety of color options. Designer: h220430 - Related posts: |
