Poplar Pendants

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 08:28 AM PST

Schneid Enlightenment has hit the nail on the head with their first attempt at in-house design and manufacturing. This unique series of pendant lamps applies thin poplar pieces to organic shapes to create a natural-feeling, warm, ambient light as well as a structurally interesting room element.

One tube of work for anywhere

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 12:04 AM PST

If you’re in need of a container that brings physical writing instruments, note paper, and a fully functional nighttime light, you’ll want to take a peek at ODO. The design team at “Generally and Especially” have for you a conglomeration of tools contained in a simple tube made of high-quality materials. Not just physical writing comes to you in this high-tech-minded futuristic present of ours, but a solar-powered light, too!

The letters ODO stand for Outdoor Office, the designers intent being this designs ability to “provide unlimited workforce in anywhere and anytime, so we can brainstorm, rejuvenate and share our ideas more effectively and efficiently.” Sounds fun!

Weeble broom wobbles but it wont fall down

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 12:03 AM PST

There’s a design for a broom and dustpan out there that brings the two together in a way that not only keeps them one unit, but keeps them sitting upright as well. While a standard broom and dustpan require you to stand them up against a wall or they’ll go horizontal, the “Roly-poly Cleaner” by designer HYELIN Lee is able to sit up without assistance.

What you’re looking at here is the same composure of plastics you’d normally be working with using a broom and dustpan. The difference here is the click-in nature of the two, together sitting upright and ready for your usage. When it comes time to sweep, just pull them apart.

Playful Bakeware

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST

The Flexy series of cake pans offer a unique twist on the generic round a square bakeware you can find in any grocery store. Mold each one to your liking for a more personal touch that will stand out from the rest. Designer Simon Michel states that the bakeware is composed of food-safe plastic, but that might need a lil tweaking considering the material’s low melting point. Other than that, it’s an interesting idea for designer-cooking at home!

Power strip makes all directions possible

Posted: 23 Nov 2012 12:01 AM PST

The power strip design you’re about to witness allows you to plug in from any direction and at any point along the length of it. Designer Hung Wang created a design here that allows Live / Neutral-wire slots to sit next to one another no matter which of the four directions you plug in from. This power strip goes by the name of “CROSS” and without a doubt aims to keep all manner of electronics in energy in as versatile a manner as possible.
