Posted: 27 Sep 2012 10:11 AM PDT The Dassault Falcon S applies supersonic fighter aircraft philosophies to the executive jet, combining long range transatlantic capability and speed to the comfort of a wide body, high altitude aircraft. Marked by impeccable, angular symmetries, the overall aesthetic is at once futuristic, refined and discreet. I’ll take mine in chrome, please. Posted: 27 Sep 2012 06:53 AM PDT Imagine a future where food is inspired by music. I am talking about the SmartPlate, a dish that understands food and transforms it into sound. As described by Julian, it completes the circle of senses by which we understand what we eat. The plate hookes up wirelessly to your mobile device, and then by measuring the different aspects of your ingredients, it identifies food. It then precisely attaches musical notes, harmonies and rhythm to each ingredient. Essentially the user can listen, compose and interact with recipes of sound! Electrolux SmartPlate is a 2012 Electrolux Design Lab Top Ten finalist entry. Designer: Julian Caraulani - Related posts:

Posted: 27 Sep 2012 06:37 AM PDT I am always fascinated with the different coffee packaging that keeps popping up. This time around we have a finger-cover design that folds inside out. Basically you can use the package itself to stir the coffee, once you have poured out the mix. It looks into hygiene, eco-friendliness and productiveness in a resourceful way. Posted: 27 Sep 2012 12:01 AM PDT Inspired by the painter’s easel, this bare-bones task lamp is composed of little more than a mirrored, Y-shaped frame supporting a socket, bulb and shade. With the shade held in place by the bulb and on/off functionality built into the cord, the design doesn’t require adhesives or screws to keep everything in place. A perfect minimal accent to your desktop! Designer: Laura Fernandez - No related posts. |
Posted: 27 Sep 2012 12:01 AM PDT Just as the name suggests, the Wood-con-fusion table fuses wood, veneer and formica leftovers that are literally collected off the floor of local carpentry studios. Each table begins its life as a seemingly useless pile of scrap before fragments are pressed and processed into sheets used to create unique one-off pieces that are sustainable, über-functional, and downright pretty.
