Yanko Design - Form Beyond Function |
Posted: 15 Jun 2012 05:42 AM PDT SAVE:US is a unique light meant to be placed in building hallways so that people can get handy access to an emergency light during an evacuation. On a daily basis the ceiling light functions normally, but during an emergency, you simply pull down a down-light torch, which is placed in a central cavity, and use it as ready illumination. Each torch is fitted with a GPS system that can be easily tracked by the rescue team. The emergency light is charged by standby power during non-emergency times, and is always ready to use. SAVE:US is a 2011 reddot design concept winner. Designers: Jo Joo Hyun, Choi Sung Hun, Jin Min Hee & Park So Jeing - Related posts: |
Posted: 15 Jun 2012 04:45 AM PDT The Piano is a super sexy desktop lamp crafted out of black metal and warm bright wood. It has a unique way of closing and stowing and was evidently inspired by the piano. To close the lamp, simply rotate the three elements and present it as a flat table decoration. Yes, it does resemble the ebony and ivory when closed! Designer: OneArtistStudio - Related posts: |
Posted: 15 Jun 2012 02:05 AM PDT The Taihoo 2046 Concept Car is intended for the 18-35 year old young couples in China, apparently the big spenders and lovers of all things flashy! Taihoo`s styling is inspired by the Taihu Stone, which is also a porous stone. Essentially combining the porous and transparent features into a super sexy design, has worked out pretty well for this car. One of the super cool features is that the interior design can easily transform to a camping tent and the windows are slightly curved so that you can project movies onto it. What fun! All-round Vision for the Blind Posted: 15 Jun 2012 12:51 AM PDT Navigation Glasses for the Blind is a pair of special glasses teamed with an earpiece. It helps the sight impaired to literally visualize their surrounding and even includes the peripheral vision. Sensors in the glasses pick up the elements around the person and kind of guides them with auditory feedback. A strategically placed mic allows the user to communicate with the device and get accurate realtime feedback. The really cool styling adds to the features of the glasses.
